And who are you kidding you'll still be online whether SOPA passes or not. The Internet is much more than entertainment in my opinion.
This is interesting... i've been meaning to make a thread on this topic. I agree, but like I said, costs need to be taken into consideration. If I need to by dvds, money has to come from somewhere.

Lol @picture

As for you're second point I see what you mean, tbh I can't remember the last time I rented a movie yet at the same time I don't enjoy watching films online. I make exceptions for legendary films (mostly foreign) but that's where it ends.

I'm more of a series guy, gimme Game of Thrones, Spartakus and Sons of anarchy on a weekly basis and I'm set.

I can't go without my bucketload of series. I've been behind for a month now, and I'm itching to get them all into my head before SOPA makes it impossible. Thing is, I'd have to wait literally up to a year just to get the series on DVD. The thought of it makes me sick.

Something else just dawned on me as well. Anime fansubs and Manga scanlations. ... many sites have already gone down over the years do to TokyoPop and Funimation (along with others) getting gov't help and threatening lawsuits.

Don't... don't scare me like that.

I read that it's up and was yet another server glitch. As is common with them.

The US Congress has halted debate on two contested anti-online piracy bills.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid delayed a vote on the Protect IP Act (Pipa) scheduled for Tuesday.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith then said his panel would not consider the Stop Online Piracy Act (Sopa) until a compromise was reached.

The decisions follow protests by online encyclopaedia Wikipedia, and thousands of other websites, which went "dark" in protest for 24 hours earlier this week.

"In light of recent events, I have decided to postpone Tuesday's vote on the PROTECT IP Act," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, a Democrat, said in a statement on Friday.

Guys calm down, Anonymous is the government of the internet, Anonymous have well skilled hackers that could shut down everything if they could.

Wikipedia, the sixth most visited website on the Internet, said that it will go dark on Wednesday to protest regulation being offered in Congress and in the Senate. That legislation, says Wikipedia and other Internet companies, would stifle free expression and unfairly kill websites. Source of article: Wikipedia and others go dark to protest SOPA. People who are the owners of copywritten materials needs protection because there are a lot of people who go online and download without the owners getting a payment for their work. I just see it very unfair for them.

I don't think online movie sharing is 100% stealing for the simple reason that the owners still have their original material. It is like someone coming to your home and xeroxing your belongings. You still have your TV, car, etc. The only damage that person has done to you is lower your belongings' value, he did not take them away from you

I never download things onto my laptop so as long as watching stuff online is not made difficult or illegal then it won't change much for me personally. However I support the resistance anyway, power to the people!
