hyper... lets say i was a witness is it compulsory to give friday sermon in arabic? i know they do in somalia although the average abdi doesnt understand the language.

3. Imams that go on forever like it's a taraweeh prayer or something

4. Imams that make people stay in the seated position for a long time before ending the prayer

Hahaha I remember our masjid old Imam was a somali and loved playing with young people's head who were always in a rush, he always Read surat al baqra and al rahman and no one knew when he would stop. the amount of "ahhh" and "Uff" you hear sometimes pushed you to the limit to Giggle and you forcefully Hold it. Sometimes he would just start off from a middle of another long surat which is as bad, one busy young chap had enough and cracked it after the prayer.

Yes that is one of the waajibaats of jumaca salat, that the qutbah must be in arabic, pretty simple guidelines from what I was taught

1. Must say Alhamdulilah
2. Must Say Itaqwullah
3. Must Read one ayat
4. Must send salawat on Nabi
5 must supplicate for the believers

this must be in arabic, but you can give bayan in another language

You guys gotta have some boundaries. And complaining that the prayer is taking too long because the imam is reciting long surahs is one of those boundaries because you're implyingthat you dont have time for Allah swt

One of the things that an Imam shouldn't do is make the Salat long. The prophet scw discouraged it because it caused people to not come to the masjid to pray at his scw time, imagine now.
