I think some of you missed the point of the article, which is changing the way we approach solving the problem. Even with a collapsed state, if Somalis can still function better economically, create effective networks and enterprise that there is hope. She isn't saying be happy with your current condition.
Point being: the solution lies by building from the bottom-up and Somali entrepreneurship.

Enterprise is the way forth

Positive BBC article for a change, lets keep this thread politics free.

(A trend-setting boutique in Hargeisa is one of several innovative businesses), Import export through Berbera this is all in Somaliland.

I hate to say this but Somalia is a Failed State what we have to realize is that the achievements that are being glorified as Somalia's achievements in that bbc article are in actuality SOMALILAND achievements and as a somalilander we do not want our hard work associated or credited to the south ... Thank you .

Oooh please the only thing that might be credited to SL is peace and ooh PL has been peaceful for the last 13 years with a state. This articles main focus is the economy and Alhamdulilah south with the "war" has done itself justice in that department

@daiman. I was referring to the article (link posted in op) assuming everyone read it. Failed or not,I'm not trying to convince anyone either way. But, I think she tried to give a different idea as to how to deal with issues, because clearly from what we can see the methods employed in state-building isn't working.

Puntland can never be credited with peace They are a piracy save heaven.
Somaliland and Puntland can Not be put in the Same breath nor sentence. We hold somalia on our shoulders.

However if you unedit what i have said and look at the quotes the economic achievements mentioned in the article where that of Somaliland not Somalia, you must remember that somalia is in the grips of Famine where people are starving to death and mass immigration is/has taken place where major shanty towns were established this is not the climate for economic success. Somaliland also donated in the reliefe of somalia's famine issues however please do not attribute our achievements and our hard work to the south Somalia is a Failed State thank you.

Was it not you who came to this topic and said Somalia should stop cliaming our success? Anyway it seems like your dreaming because claiming that SL is more successful than the rest is just a lie, its getting to the stage where SL is compared with PL, and you want to be a wadan  in few years Galmudug will be in the same level as SL if you dont make a move on with the Independence thing
