what is empire uthman? you mean the 3rd khalifa of islam? , if your going to say a isaq sultaan ruled over dulbahante degaans while the dulbahante had their own ugaas then you must be joking [/color]LaY-D_LicK wrote:
Wrong!!!!!
Somaliland was given Independence from the British and was recognized as her own country ....
Somalia was given independence much later from the italians and recognized as her own country ...
The british and italian had already LEFT and were out the picture when Somaliland and The somali republic made a act of union ...
France left djoubouti and djoubouti choose to stay independant ...
Somaliland also had that option but choose to join the somali republic ...
in the 1960 they had a act of union which today turns out to be unlawfullGo figure ...
So there basicly is nothing tying us anymore ..
first of all i never disagreed on this part, however how is it unlawfull? when the UN recognised the 1960 border as the true representative of somalia and still the international community regards this border as the real one. there is not a single current credibale atlas in the world that divides somalia into two one being british somaliland and the other italian somaliland. if it was unlawfull somalia would not be a member of the united nations nor would it be a sovereign state. our grandfathers signed that deal and the world honours that agreement and we will also honour that agreement.

The british did recognized somaliland and gave her independance in the 1960 along side the UN and 35 other countries ...
