From what I can tell, Somalis have a major problem with marriage. Marriage is the trendiest thing, everyone wants to do it, but no one is actually going about a way that seems proper, and includes all the steps necessary. Parents and imaams don't actually tell us
how to get married, but that we should. Aside from the cold and awkward sittings in a masjid, there really is no facilitation for it. On top of this problem, knowing which method to choose (either going out on your own and socializing, asking parents, or a community service/center) is difficult enough as it is. There's no guarantee that any of these methods would be best. I've seen masjid marriages end in disaster, so personally speaking, something similar to that would be off-putting. Same can be said about other methods as well.
That big book idea seems interesting, but kinda dehumanizing. Seems like you're being bought. I'd never opt for that.
