BV....I'm not talking about Sharia. Even wild stuff attributed to Shabab which has nothing to do with Sharia...some people jump on and exploit into 'anti-wahhabism.' But when the shoe is on the other foot they want to act impartial.

With the track record of the Alawite leadership in Syria...this is minor. They have committed much worse atrocities going back decades. I take it you don't know about the reputation of the Syrian security forces.

Thug...it's unfortunate that people would support Assad. He's a filthy Alawi ordering Chris Brown songs via iTunes while his soldiers casually take out civilians in horrible ways.

To support the fake revolution because Bashaar is a tyrant is no different than to support the attack on Iran under the pretext that they are Shia.

Lets follow the lead of Uncle Sam and his support of al-qaeda in Syria even though Al-qaeda was the main reason he started his "war on terror".

BV it's not a Wahabbi movement as far as I know.

It's ordinary people who had enough. Alawis make up a tiny part of Syria's population but have monopolised the economy+military+politics. They use a combination of the three to keep a grip on power.

The overwhelming majority of Syrians are marginalised sunnis. They have used the Arab Spring to try and force Bashar Assad out of power and the Alawis have responded fiercely...if they lose it's a wrap ee is dheheen. This is not the first time they've rebelled.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hama_massacre

''The Hama massacre (Arabic: مجزرة حماة‎) occurred in February 1982, when the Syrian army, under the orders of the country's president, Hafez al-Assad, conducted a scorched earth operation against the town of Hama in order to quell a revolt by the Sunni Muslim community against the regime of al-Assad. ....

Torture and mass executions of suspected rebel sympathizers ensued, killing many thousands over several weeks. Rifaat, suspecting that rebels were still hiding in tunnels under the old city, had diesel fuel pumped into them and set ablaze and stationed T-72 tanks at the tunnel entrances to shell people trying to escape from the tunnels.....
Initial diplomatic reports from western countries stated that 1,000 were killed. Subsequent estimates vary, with the lower estimates claiming that at least 10,000 Syrian citizens were killed,[4] while others put the number at 20,000 (Robert Fisk),[1] or 40,000 (Syrian Human Rights Committee).
''

It has nothing to do with Wahabbis. It's ordinary Syrians..that's why the West is supporting it. Israel actually wants Bashar in charge because they have an understanding much like they did with Mubarak.
