Okay, lets give Farmaajo credit where credit is due. He is the first PM to do his job and take care of business. He didn't anything magical but instead did what he was SUPPOSED to do unlike his successor and predecessor.

I met him. He is humble and very demure. He is a man of the people and not arrogant nor does he stock his inner circle with his juufo.

In an ideal world, he would be President but this is not an ideal country or election. He won't win this year as much as I would have liked him to do so.

If Abdullahi Axmed Caadow doesn't win (yep, I dislike the man but I can't afford more qaaran !!!!) , I will throw my weight behind Farmaajo

Truth be told, Farmaajo is not my candidate for president. This is something that has pissed off some of the Sade members of the forum and even during that Burn Notice topic I made about TFG corruption when some were accussing me of clan support to Farmaajo, some Sade were berating me as a hater and vindictive for even posting Hiiraan's inclusion of Farmaajo.

But the reality is even though he is my second candidate to back in the event my first candidate has setback, the reality is I do not believe there is a Somali man alive who can garner the support and dynimic populism Farmaajo wields and like you said it was earned. The man told Mahiga to come to him rather then being met at the airport, he paid civil servants, paid security forces, he shouldered the struggle of the Somali people especially in Xamar and he gave them the most important thing you can give society: hope. Up until that moment people were motivated by fear...fear that another clan will vanquish you, fear you will lose respect, fear you will become irrelavant, fear of the other, etc but they became to be motivated by hope, in the future and in themselves and in their leadership. This is what I believe is still driving these people to the streets. They are not motivated by fear anymore, fear of another clan coming or not being of your clan or looking foolish for support another, etc but rather hope that if he comes back they will have individual ability to have better opportunities. It's amazing.

Even if the man is not your first candidate, I can never understand someone who doesn't support the man still or denies his record.

This is not Mother Teresa contest all of his positive traits qualify him for a role much closer to civil society as in a Mayor or Degaan Governor. Yes he has more credibility then the rest but then Abdi Weli is equal in rank (ignoring the corruption claims).

If this was purely between Farmaarjo and Abdi weli Gaas = Weli wins hands down: The Man had his life flash infront of him during the bomb plot:- He is still standing, Farmaarjo ran away after Musevine told him to take a hike.

Abdi Weli Gaas in comparison

- Fearless
- He has the trust of Puntland
- He has been very diplomatic towards dialogue with Somaliland
- He has in no way been implicated in any activity of inciting descent
- He is the first PM to have zero conflict with President, UN, Mahiga or the international community

Farmaarjo will ensure the soldiers are paid on time... However

- He will alienate Amisom, UN, IGAD and Mahiga.
- He will totally loose all support of Puntland
- He will totally collapse the dialogue with Somaliland

Wakeup and smell the Strong BUUN Qaxwa stench emanating from our Flanders... I like him

But this is not the right time for him... tough decisions need to be made over the course of the next 24months... We have Zero margin for conflict in Vila-Doomishu.

I ain't hating but common let us be real he has showedup in the wrong time... he is young he can return in 10-15years time and not burn out his prestige.

It is as if the last 20 years Somalia's youth felt disaffected, disenfrenchised, disconnected by Somalia's politics as not something for them but old war profiteers and warlords and tribal elders. Farmaajo seems have brought a wave of populist dynamism that seems to be rooting ownership in the stakes for the nation and the future in Somalia's youth.

The elders are, they are getting paid by people who want to become MPs, and then the MPs are selling their votes to the candidates with money (thats my guess)
