Re: Somalis exist to please an invisible god
i think you'd be better off posting this sort of stuff on somaliaonline. i'm sure they'd appreciate it more on that forum than here because more of them are older - old farts, if you will - and tend to be secular and atheistic.
personally, while your subject caught my attention, i can't handle your pseudo-intellectualism and philosophical mumbo jumbo. frankly, it's cheesy and cringe worthy.
a little advice nevertheless: if you're going to abandon islam (which i don't recommend), don't bother with pseudo crap - atheism, existentialism, humanism, etc - go straight to nihilism. because, if you're honest and intellectually capable, that's the only other place you can end-up thats somewhat reasonable and makes some sense.

And thanks for the review.
Now, hit the road!

So, instead of asking what he intended by his post, you'll assume on his behalf?

His post isn't suited for somaliaonline.

Sheikh Lamagoodle wlc back, siyaaradii biyooleey maka soo xadra dhameysatey.
Sxb it is in our nature, we can't scape from our past. Wether we admit it or not Somalis worship qabyaalad. In the past the damage was limited because we didn't have modern weapons/transportations, and i am talking about centuries ago. Imagine if we get our hands on certain weapons. Umuuraha Allah haa sahlo, maybe if we get wealthy like the arabs ...who knows.. afar xaas layaal intaan noqono aan mashquuli laheen

Re: Somalis exist to please an invisible god
When lawless and anarchy prevails in a society, human beings will seek safety and comfort in the most strongest bonds they share and identify with which is their family, clan, tribe etc.
When you have extended periods of security and peace, then each men will wander and no longer be tied going where ever opportunities present themselves. I believe the Somalis have never experienced a period of prolonged peace ever since they became conscious of their identity and makeup. Each tribe was locked in a perpetual war of survival with the neighboring tribe.
Lamgoodle, after reading your post I only have one question,
What is your clan?

alphanumeric,
as i made it clear, some of us snetters are bunch of simpletons. we're nothing like you or those on somaliaonline. you were easily able to decode his message: somalis worship qabil, "an invisible god" blah blah. on the other hand we, simpletons, perceived an attack on institutions - islam and its ulama, for example - that we hold dear from a secular, existential and "rational" viewpoints. thats just the way we're - knowing that is why i recommended somaliaonline.

Re: Somalis exist to please an invisible god
That was one powerful piece to read considering all the garbage that is posted on this site every second.
Somalinet should have just one single Forum Rule: Discussions can only be about ideas and events, and never about individuals.
Now, back to topic. I always wonder about the state in which Somalis find themselves today. We are able to count the names of at least 15 of our forefathers, yet when it comes to their accomplishments, there is nothing else to brag about other than how they hunted animals, butchered this tribesman and that, and fathered countless children. We are truly a group of individuals who are enslaved by their narrow thinking and shortsightedness. We have not yet realized that the only entity more powerful than a tribe is a nation of tribes. Our similarities are endless in comparison with most nations of the world, yet we are quick to fight with our neighbors because they have a different dialect or God-Forbid they were not fathered by our great-great-great-great grandfather. Our energy and focus is mainly on those who are closest to us. We turn those who could benefit us the most into arch-enemies, and in return befriend a stranger that will use, exploit, and humiliate us into non-existence.

Alxamdulilah life is good Ustaad. I understand you had other commitments so insha allah maybe we'll catch up some other time in the near future. And that Liverpool t-shirt with the name Lamagoodle on the back was taken by a friend of my brother who is a Liverpool fan.Lamgoodle wrote:
Thanks Malaaq. How is life? Sorry I couldn't make the trip. I hope you enjoyed it and the folks in that part of the world are doing great.
I enjoyed every minute of it brother. Being with family and friends in the holly month was good.
