Just because you don't like the political outcome in Kismaayo doesn't mean you must hate on the city, many investors and traders in Nairobi and Dubai are waiting for the political situation to stabilize. Kismaayo has great potential despite its recent past, with three of the most resourceful states relying on its port it will experience phenomenal growth.Kismaayo has only been a liberated city for 8-9 months and during this time little economic activity was conducted.

No one is hating on the city. It is a Somali city. Stating the truth is not hating. That city is the most peaceful in all of the south yet nothing is going on there. One full year is about to pass and nothing to show for it except for political bickering.

Kismayo is beyond irrelevant and it will become even more useless once the Kenyans successfully turn that place into their buffer zone, something that has been proven after the US State Department cables were leaked for the whole world to see. Their motives are known yet Somalis are still foolish to ally with them rather than ethnic Somalis from a city a few hundred kilometers away.

All the best in your development. I am sure the Kenyans will pay as much attention to it as they have done with the NFD.

How is Kismayo irrelevant? has it been wiped off the map

Kenya will finish its mandate under AMISOM and like any other Somali region the legitimate admin will secure the regions liberated from Shabab. Kenya is apart of Somalia's peace-keeping arrangement, this benefits there security interests and the security of Jubbaland beyond this Kenya has left the political process to the people of Jubbaland.

There is no internet and the airport is closed half of the time. What development can there be when the investors can't even access the city?

You can thank the Kenyans for that who are only there to steal your resources with Western corporations and make you an enemy of the Somali state.

You are being turned into the African Poland, only much more destitute and hopeless, and whose only existence was to be in between the Germans and the Soviet Union in the 18th century, the 1920's and the Cold War. That is your destiny. No development for you!

What nonsense is this person spewing? Kismayo has barely had time to breathe and develop with the constant
warfares, isbaaros and political tensions over the past 22 years. Negro please, give the city some time to calm down and for its people to return. Thereafter we can start the real discussion.
