I'd prefer land. Dhowr iyo toban baloodh iyo dayirkiisa igu yaraan weeye sheekada.
Jokes aside, asking for a ridic meher is never a good idea. The husband will resent his wife when she's unable to cook a proper meal after he spent 15k for dowry. The more spent on meher, the higher the expectations. Best to just ask him what he can afford and negotiate from there.
p.s. Somali brides hardly ever get their meher. It's usually taken by her fam to finance the wedding or buy her dahab/dress

There are even families who just use up the meher for themselves

There is a girl in my city who agreed not to have a wedding/party and just have the men's qado & aqal gal. The guy paid her meher in full, and he also furnished the base they were gonna move into. A week before the official nikaax, she tells her fiance that she wants a wedding & aroos la'aan ma aqal galayso. An argument ensued and the guy said he didn't appreciate her switching up on him and that maybe it wasn't a good idea not to go through with the entire marriage. Lacagteeda i soo celi ayuu idhi, ayadana shilin kamaa hayso. She never ended up paying back the money either.
