I have family in Saudi Arabia that can sponsor me. That's besides the point because I'll be studying there and I can make connections then.

I didn't ask you if you got family there waxan ku idhi Saudis HAVE to advertise the job vacancy to Saudis, if you do get the job, months later a Saudi man can just show up and get you fired because he is qualified to do your job and your employers are not allowed to give out vacancies as long as there are Saudis qualified for that specific job. Saudis are first priority, you are better off searching for jobs in Qatar, Kuwait and etc.

As I've said earlier, I have plenty of options. The main reason I'm going to Saudi Arabia is to study. I can work in the US or the UK. Saudi Aramco is always hiring foreigners, particularly US nationals. The whole compound is essentially an American town.

Problem is some people graduate with degrees in computer science but after a few of their applications are turned down they end up feeling not good enough to compete. Why because they lack experience. Ii think too much downtime can make you settle for a shell stacking job. You have to do work on your own and try and sell that. Lot of these succesfull guys have done work on their own. This what counts when your are asked if you have experience.

If there are no somali engineers, what am I studying then? Every somali I know from my generation is in uni or has got a degree. Most are Civil engineers and accountants. But quite a few studied biomedical science and are pursuing medical degrees. Even the somali girls in my family are studying mathematics or engineering.

That's not necessary true..
No one wants to hire Saudis, not even Saudis themselves.. They are well known to be lazy and unreliable. Saudi companies are required to reserve certain jobs for Saudis such as HR, recruitment, reception work etc which results in many organizations being really difficult to work for as Saudis tend to do the bare minimum and professionalism is nonexistent.

My brother and his wife work for Aramco and they are required to train Saudis in order for them to replace them lol they've been doing this for many years yet the trainees still don't know the basics lol.
