that's what voltage and his brother perfect order are trying very hard to avoid . they want to pretend that they're completely oblivious to how somali politics work which basically at the end of the day it comes down to clan dynamics. for these two brothers to ever face hawiye they have to first be the top dogs in a inter-darod rivalry. sade being equivalent to kablalah and kablalah being 70% of darod automatically puts the two brothers are a great disadvantage to use their clan-card to speak with pride in today's political stage. with that being said, i want them to know that i think sade, despite being smaller than kablalah has more heart than their counterparts the kablalah and they tend to have a stronger determination. so in a way number doesnt matter.

Name a clan with the size of Marehan that can boast One president and two Prime Ministers. They are heavyweights but Shirdoon totally set em back big time

Al ikhwan/ala shaykh-shaykh mohamed moallim, al islaax-shaykh garyare- al salafiya- shaykh omar faruq, al jihad-hassan dahir- have all come from a hwy associated backgrounds.

Nowadays only these groups are able to reach the power but their candidates are from these guys from xamar like sh sharif, hassan sheekh, badiyoow, osoble...

Damjadid is dominated by reerow xassan like sheikh nuur baaruud and farah abdulqadir and have other guys who work with qatar like fahad yasin

Next president from al sheekh will be murursade or hawadle, these two groups dominate them.

Al islaax was founded by 6 people from sheekhaal, reerow hassan and hawadle in 1979 in saudi arabia, they have abgaal candidates.

Abdikarim guleed-HGsacad- may replace hassan heekh for dam jadid.

Perfect_Order wrote:Geoseven, you are misconstruing the facts. Yes there was a lot of successful Hawiye candidates, but almost all of them were locally based except Baadiyow, and all of them were part of some kind of islamic party like islaah or dam jadiid a branch of islaah. While Darood or other non Hawiye candidates were almost all diaspora and had no local party affiliation. Islaah is also heavily connected with Qatar which we know is a proponent of muslim brotherhood (islaah being a branch of MB) wings all over the muslim world including egypt, syria, Somalia, etc. They easily gave Egypt a few billion dollars to help Morsi, the Somali campaign was chump change for them.

So the real winners were not Hawiye, even though you can paint it that way, but it was Islamic groups privately funded by outsider donors (qatar). Also, yes Hawiye have the most members in these groups, but every qabil is in them since it is not solely qabil but idealogically based, out of Darood Marexaan are the biggest members of Isaah, while MJ's are led by secularists. Islamic groups are most prevalent in the south because of the long instability.
PO, you sophisticate something simple. Bear in mind that, no matter how much the political culture of Somalia matures and evolves in the near future to allow for the facilitation of various ideological groups whether secular or religious, the single most decisive factor to attainment of goals by any party will be that of clan loyalty and allegiance.
