They set up an ardaa in what is now called Jameecada weeyn

So began the actual settlements that is now known as Hargeisa,Before that that location was just a ceel where the Ciidagale and Arab watered their camels.SM Rer Samatar used Ceelka Haraf

Thug, which clan is responsible then for making Hargeisa what it is today. Some clan had to dominate in terms of land ownership and social influence.

Dude I am all good, I got Oodweyne, Ceerigaabo, Burco, New Hargeisa . Those cities are larger than
Buhoodle and Las Anod, marka wax iga maqan ma jirto. Maydh will grow in its own time and compete with the big boys.

Im not biased so I will give you the answer since thug is too much of a gentleman to say it. Sacad Muse sxb. You need a certain level of reer magalnimo and vision to advance. Not that the other tribes are not but Cidagale were too busy in the deep hawd exchanging or revenging a sultan with the Ogadens. They had no time for building nor had the know how.. Common sense.

Togga Herer was always controlled by Cidagalle and later on, in late 1700 - early 1800's, in the settlements around that area you had Arap and the Isxaaq living there as well. This is way before Sheikh Madar. When the colonialist came the area was under the control of Garxajis/Arap.

Hargeysa as we know it today was created by all those clans living there; Cidagalle, Arap, SM, & Isxaaq.


Nonetheless the city is Isaaq.

Thug is indeed a gentleman, so I'll put him at rest and just say Isaaq wa mid. Somaliland belongs to all Isaaq regardless and the Gadabursi and Harti backstabbers will have to work twice as hard to prove their worth.

The Constantinople example is for Maydh, since both places are pretty ancient and their original inhabitants were totally uprooted with no traces to be
found today, Maydh was being mentioned in 16th century in futuh al-habasha the conquest of Abyssinia so it is very old place. However you are right
Ceerigaabo still has few traces of Harti but many moved out already as they don't like living under Sland rule since 1991.
