They have hundreds of clans and ethnic groups and multiple religions coexisting side by side. That's why they're so powerful (relative to other African nations) and that's why they've been able to bully Somali people. There needs to be reconciliation among ALL clans and a proposed roadmap to rebuild the country needs to be drawn up not by the international community, but by Somalis themselves. If that's fruitful, perhaps Somalis from Djibouti all the way to Garissa will be under one flag. Until that ever happens, Somaliland is doing what it can to benefit it's people.
I agree with you. When people here about unity they things its unity between North and South. But in reality the main unity we need to be talking about is unity between all Somali clans. We have Somalis using foreign countries against another Somali just because of the competitiveness between themselves. They have forgotten that we should not compete with each other but with the world.

Also yes all Somalis need to reconcile and put behind all the trouble's and feud they had between themselves. The most powerful thing in the world is unity. The more united a couple are the better the relationship, the more united a family the better the childrens upbringing and the more united a nation the better for the countries development and peace.

Somaliland was were the concept of all somali people under one flag and one nation came from. It was in hargeisa where the blue flag was first raised and where the national anthem was made. Unforgettably reer somaliland were betrayed and stabbed in the back. How can you share a country with people who actively hate somali and wouldn't hesitate to bring foreigners to kill other somali.
I'm fully aware of the fact that our people rushed to joined with our brothers in the South. Egal (AUN) even urged that we shouldn't be haste and that we should give a few months time before making the union. We can't blame them though, our people were very idealistic and very eager to become a united nation. If we as Somalis wanna stop being the laughing stock of the world, we need Isaaq, Darood, Hawiye, Dir, Raxanweyn, Madhibaan, Bantus, Reer Xamar etc. to all come together and talk like real men to make reconciliation and come up with some sort of solution where resources are distributed equally and that there isn't some sort of tribal manipulation that will lead us back into the mess we're in now. The question is, when will this ever happen?

I was not defending him. I was just correcting people for spreading bullshit about how Marehan were given free money, homes, scholarship when in reality that is false.

Also Siad Barre is a ionic person within the Somali history, he has done many good things for the country and many bad things. He is like a marmite, you either hate him or love him. But one thing is that he will forever be remembered by the Somalis.

Heck some just even made a song about him. Enjoy

Heck his pictures are still being hang in capital of Somalia Mogadishu!

Again lets not rewrite history. The Somali flag and anthem was made by a Southerner.

Also obviously the Somali flag will rise in Somaliland first because it was freed few days before the South. Also Somaliland especially Isaaq were always secessionist, their party before independence didn't want to join the South. It was the party shared by Dhullos, Warsans, Gadabursi that wanted unity. Also your people tried to leave Somalia in 1961, just 1 year after independence.

Actually....it was the Dhulo supreme garaad (aun), whom wanted nothing to do with the southerners.
The iidoor politicians held his beard saying........no garaad...no!

He went on to warn them that they would one day rue this day.

Quit lying everybody knows the Isaaq never wanted to unite with the rest of Somalia before independence. There this historical books that account to what I'm saying. So the Isaaq could stop saying we were the ones that wanted to unite.

Snl was cidagale

cigaal advocated that we wait for few years. Most people insulted him and said they wanted to unite. If isaaq who are 80% of north were against union, there would have never been a union.

filthy cuqdad man

I've hardly ever commented on Marehan as a clan.....only warlord Barre Hiraale.
My people live and own property in and around Kismayo/L/Jubba.....why shouldn't I comment?
Southern politics equates to national politics, at least in the eyes of the I.C.......I have every right to discuss it.

However.....this isn't the problem for you.....what galls you is that I hold & express opposing views to you/crew.
You need to grow up and not be so immature.......just a thought mind. :D
