As far as I'm concerned the marriages are halal......that's all that matters.

a farah coming from the WEST in Africa, is not a loser. He is a rare commodity. He is like a Prince going to marry a poor Cinderella. Now, when the brides comes to the West---that's a different story.

I don't know saaxib. Some will argue that there is a religious dimension to the non-firconic one. Does that mean all indonesian, Malaysian and other asian women (muslim) women have undergone the Sunnah one? Or is this only an African issue?0sman wrote:I see.
Regarding your last point (is one type better than another?), it's better that girls aren't circumcised at all (that's my opinion) but since that will take time and if it comes to one or the other, then yes, one is better than the other.
The two common female circumcisions Somalis use are the Pharaonic one and sunni (as I mentioned early). Compared the two and their effects on the victims, of course the sunni one is preferable than the butchering one (that's if there is no escape and the matter becomes 'Labo daran mid dooro').
In East Africa, circumcision of men and women is common; how this is done can differ; in the case of men for instance, many circumcised by removal of teeth , mutilation of other parts of the body etc. In the case of women some are even more horrific of the somali FGM (which by the way comes in different varieties).

So, Basra let us assume for the sake of argument that you are a middle aged woman and you theorise that the Faaraxs in your part of the world do not deserve your heart; will you try to fly home to Africa and marry a geeljire?Basra- wrote:a farah coming from the WEST in Africa, is not a loser. In order for something to become Xalaal, you need to ensure that the foundations are robust islamic wise... don't you think so?original dervish wrote:As far as I'm concerned the marriages are halal......that's all that matters.

Suppose I intentionally lied about my background and everything else to wed, does that make my marriage halaal?
Hal booli ah nirig xalaal ah ma dhashaa?

Re: A grisly trend

Jaale,
I have nothing against a handsome geeljire. But not for me. If I wanted him just for the satisfaction of sex, yes, a geeljire will do. But her ladyship likes a polished, metropolitan farah with a genius mind and manners.

PS I have no problem for Xalimos in the west going to Africa to see Farah geeljire. Absolutely fine.

So the notion of the untamed savage and primitive sexual being is still potent?

Lying about your background doesn't invalidate ones marriage.

What about women who wear far too much wake up? If the farax wakes up to a zombie the day after the wedding, Isnt that technically deception and lying?original dervish wrote:Lying about your background doesn't invalidate ones marriage.

Re: A grisly trend
The amount of old geezers married to young hotties in Xamar makes me sick. For instance, there is this old geezer (75-80yrs old) who happens to be a relative of mine. In 1 month, he divorced 2 of his wives (both born in the mid '80s) and 1 week later married 2 young women.
Whenever I see 1 of his wives, thoughts that I care not to share pop in my head. Why?
I hate how Somali women are treated like AA battery from the $ store.

Disgusting. Easy to exploit those in poverty.
Re: A grisly trend
They are only with these old wrinkly men for the money. The minute their elderly husbands bring them to the west warqadii i sii bay odhan. I should know because it happened to one of my uncles.
