Silaanyo has served SL very well the past 4 years but its very unwise to re elect him again and i will explain why, guys can u guys leave the clan factor behind its pointless lets discuss personalities and their ability to lead Somaliland. President siilaanyo is an honest man and i believe he does not need wealth or his corrupt and wants to leave a legacy but his close affiliates are ruining it for him. Siilaanyo is an old Somaliland statesmen and he deserves our respect , but to re elect him is not wise and the following reason Kulmiye has done allot the 4 years and they tried to proof themselves to be re elected and worked very hard which is good. I can say that if they get re elected they will lean back and not work as hard and especially as Siilaanyo is aging his close associates will be feeling the gap and will run the show behind the curtains can Siilaanyo stand at Kheriyada hargeysa and campaign to be re elected, i doubt he can we will see Xirsi and Samaale doing the campaigning. The people of SL deserve a president who leads, the country. MAYBE ITS good to give UCID AND Wadani a chance perhaps because if they are given the seat they would work tirelessly the next 5 years because they fresh and have energy and they want to proof themselves and they might try to outshine and thats what matters.

Nothing you have said there has any substance. You say on one hand; Silanyo has done a lot of positive things in the last 4 years but given another 5 years his circle would take the reigns. Well what do you think they've been doing in the last 4 years or do you think it's Silanyo alone who has engineered everything.

When the only thing people can hold against Silanyo returning to power is his age, his detractors are desperate and have ran out of excuses.

Khalid, you use to support Riyaale like majority of your tribe and were lukewarm towards Silanyo. Finally you came aboard after Silanyo promised Muse Bixi the leadership after one term. This agreement was than noll and voided by Silanyo. It is the only genuine reason why you and many within your tribe are so vehemently anti Silanyo/Kulmiye.
Why else would you with a straight face claim Wadani a one tribe party who when they don't get their way send HY kids to stone government buildings. It's wrong that they are doing this to begin with but at least send a few kids from other tribes to show the rest of Somaliland it has various supporters. Can you imagine how they would react if Silanyo cheated then the way Riyaale cheated him. Would they wipe their mouths like Silanyo and tell their supporters to go home? I don't somehow think so.

Until we can get some educated real young leaders and not the clan contaminated waste we have today, old man Silanyo is our best Guardian for all clans..


Wallahi let me give you a joke. I was in Burco driving past some land and someone pointed out it was Silanyo's plot. I was than told it stayed empty because his son asked him if he could build a house for himself on it. Silanyo said no. He than asked his son why he didn't build it before he became president because today people will say; look at Silanyo sons house, he built it with Somalilands money.

I give presidents of Somalilands a chance there is no point of insulting the president or being opposed to one with out backing it up i believe siilaanyo done well the past 4 years but we will not see great development in his second term he will lean back and sit back and thats bad for Somaliland. I have supported daahir rayaale but when he was damaging SL democracy the only good thing of SL during his reign i left daahir rayaale because daahir rayaale inherited the party from the legendary cigal but he could not deliver i believe siilaanyo should have been given the chance i even now know it would be better to elect silanyo in 2003 because he is has done well for SL. Why are you on and on about tribe where did i even mention qabiil, Any way the SL people will decide one man one vote the beauty of Somaliland Siilaanyo has to defend his seat in 2015 and he has to sell it to the SL public if he wins than fair and square but the SL elections will be monitored international observes a whole new national election committee voter registration.

Can president siilaanyo lead his cabinet with out influence
Can Siilaanyo stand at kheriyada Hargeysa and give 2 hour speech like when he was the SNM chairman back in Diredawa in the 1980s
Can Siilaanyo tell the SL public how he would govern Somaliland
How can siilaanyo sell us democracy when the 2012 elections were a pure farce

I believe i am even to hard on the old man he is not the bad person i believe he wants well for the country but his close associates are ruining it for him

Regardless of how old Silanyo is it's my humble opinion that even dead in his grave, his better than his competitors if like you they are resorting to nothing bit his age. You can't be excepting us to take you serious when you want to advertise two leaders who's whole pitch consists of playing the tribe card. I have never heard Silanyo mention HJ or needing them. Why is it they are using it in such a negative way. Do they think if Wadani wins it will represent HY or the UCID wins it will represent your Super Awal. Do we pack up and make our own state? Because it's obvious these parties have no love for us. Even Silanyo had HY support during his election.

The two opposition parties are a threat to my interest and my status, Silanyo on the other hand is no threat to anyone. For that reason I hope Silanyo is re-elected..

No one is saying Siilaanyo should not run if his party wants him to run than he should but other parties have the right to express themselves and try to win the SL public over we are a democracy , its my opinion that Siilaanyo should not run there are others who believe he should run i just believe Somaliland needs a president who's in charge , i have never heard Ciiro saying he represents HY or Jamaal saying he i represents Habar awal , stop making these men Qabiil the same way Siilaanyo is not a qabiil he is the head of state of Somaliland elected in 2010 and thats the tittle he has Siilaanyo stopped being HJ the day he was elected as the president of the republic of Somaliland we are not discussing if he is hj adan madoobe or reer xaaji or his mother reer daahir and his grand mother is dhulbahante or that his wife is ciise muse , we are talking about is it good for SL if he runs a second term and can he win the 2015 elections i am stricktly speaking from SL perspective when i was supporting Daahir rayaale the than Somaliland president u were supporting the walanweyns u only became a Somaliland in 2010, how are the other candidates a threat to your interest Somalilanders are one and the same people party politcs wa halkeedi goverments come and change but SL remains and its people remain. Honestly nobody has a cats hells chance of toppling Kulmiye. It's like UKIP here in the UK taking power. They make a lot of noise but when it comes Election Day it's that green and yellow ticket everyone will want. Too many powerful business people are tied to the Kulmiye juggernaut.

Hoo bariska it's not about being scared but would you be comfortable with the likes of Mr Prestige or his other alias Siyadumar in power. That's Wadanis core supporters. It's a zero sum game where nobody will win if they gain power. I would rather have a corrupt Kulmiye than those nutjobs

not really if Jamaal plays his cards very well he can become the new president in 2015, he needs to target the youth he needs to target the middle class the poor people he needs to make him self popular with in SL , Jamaal needs a pr team in and out the country, inshallah we shall see.
