The Darood migrations are relativly recent and were documented by the colonialists. They took place within the past 170 years. Darood crossed the shebelle in the 1790s. Before that, we had the shebelle as our southern border. Having a huge land today does not mean we always lived in those places.

The Isaaq origins story is simply a copy of the older origin story of Abdulrahman Ismail. The similaraties are just too many too ignore.

if that is the case then isaaq abtirsi wouldnt make sense like darood abtirsi you would have sub clans of HJ or HA having different length abtirsi like harti

I believe the darod story and linage was developed in the last 100-150 yeaars ago based on aspects of isaaq and hawiye linages

I've said said this before but at one point there had only been Dir and Darod. Just because may have arab connections doesn't necessarily mean we are not of Somali origin. Who is to say that we predated the Nabatean migrations as Troglodytes (or Ancient Macrobia). The Harti Connection to the Aqeeli cannot be proven because there are about 10 people in the Warsangeli Sultanate line that aren't recorded (Prior to Geraad Dhidhin) and even more so during the Boqortoyate of Darood (Tanade's Son was 1st Boqor).

This also brings to mind the greatest question. Was Jeberti an Arab? Jaberti has been theorized to mean a number of things. The Tigrinya Muslims refer to themselves as Jeberti, which translated is the same as "Ansar" or helpers, which is the name the first Islamic community in Medina took for itself. Could this have been a nicknamed used for the 1st East Africans that accepted Islam? We may never know :tocry: :MJ:
