Reer Gabiley vary in stature and looks just like any other Somali clan.The only connection you can make between us and the oromos is their agropastoralism lifetstyle. We don't even share borders with oromos if anything the gurgure and the dir clans who share borders with oromos are the closest somalis to oromos. I heard they are even bilingual nowadays and are being slowly assimilated.

Dude, you are right about the Gurgura and other Dir clans in Ethiopia, a lot are bilingual and have dual identities.

You assume there is a one distinct Somali phenotype and the truth is there is not one. People in Ceel Macaan look relatively different than someone from Wajale. Similarly there is no one Oromo look. The Oromos that the border clans resemble and I am referring to are the Hararghe zone ones and half of them are Somali in origin.

That was a hypothesis which he made, and he even said himself that he wasn't sure about the ancient origins of Horn Africans.

All he could state emphatically was that Horn Africans (Somalis and Ethiopians) are just too different from the Bantus, the Arabs, and the Europeans and so they deserve their own category.

Red Sea Coast Somalis are notorious for being dark.

Camel herding Somalis in the Hawd are known for their tall stature and relatively fair skin tone. Hence, why the women of the reer Caynashe/Sugulle, Maxamed Zubeyr etc are noted for their beauty.

Reer Mudug are known for being short but possessing soft hair.

Even you know there are differences closer to home. Take Xawadles, for instance, they are on average lighter and taller than the Abgals of Shabellada Dhexe.
