If you read my contribution to the topic you'd notice it was general commentary on current cultural trends here in the west, and not about that guy specifically. As for TheMailMan, he has the right to publicly repudiate views made publicly by someone else, though the name calling is not needed.
I meant TheMailman who you were cheerleading.

What's your beef Cherine? lol. Do you want Somalis to have a defeatist attitude and become a dysfunctional society full of broken families, unemployment and single mothers raising kids on welfare? That's where this 'white man is the oppressor' social justice non-sense will get us, and it's already well under way if you havent noticed. We need Somalis to regain their pride and view themselves above anything lowly, such as welfare, crime and being butt-hurt about racism. If you view no man as above you, what they say or do can never ruffle your feathers.

A quick anecdote. During my student days I was working security at a store, and a white lady comes in, who was clearly not well mentally, and she began calling me an ugly nigger really loudly loool. The whole store started looking at us. She then left the store, and the store manager came to me and began apologizing and trying to comfort me. Little did he know I wasn't even slightly affected and just felt sorry for the lady. At the end of the day I am a proud Muslim, Somali Garxajis man so racism is a non-issue for me because i'm above it.

It's one of my many hobbies. I accept my dark side, I do not resist it; for my shining moments need darkness for it to feel significant in my soul. I do not bully, for that infers I am challenging one of weaker stature than me. No, if one goes unchecked and continues on a trail of thought of his own design, he will be like a new-born conducting studies based solely on it's narrow view of the world. I bring disturbance, for without disturbance and agitation; one becomes stagnant. Blood is only fluid when it is in motion, and I will create that motion. Please, before you come at me with such a one dimensional view point, think about what I'm actually doing for him.

However I agree with OP.

When in Italy I saw somalis say 'maxaa ka macna ah,we're niggas nooh' and was utterly shocked. Like how do you let others label you. Hooyadaa maa nigga kuu baxsate. ish.
That's why at school a maths teacher asked me if I was related to amponsah-a nigerian girl weh.
We need to have the attitude May Allah swt grant me the tools I need from this country so I can go back home and make a difference.
Exactly. If you're a self-respecting Somali Muslim man, you would have this attitude

You would have the self-reliant attitude and you would want to improve the lot of your kinsmen in Somalia. You would want to build a prosperous nation rivaling that of Europe and Asia. And you'd never want to sit on your ass and complain all the time, expecting the entire world to feel sorry for you.

That type of behavior is disgusting, and it needs to stop.
Or somali muslim woman.

This is the mentality we Somalis need to have. This oppressive "victim mentality" is what's holding us back.

If PayitForward87 had an ounce of integrity, he would reject this victim mentality and try to empower the Somali people. But I doubt he'd do that.

Bro, you think exactly like me. I agree 100 percent.

This defeatist attitude, this "victim mentality" will destroy our people if we don't put a stop to this. I have NEVER felt victimized by anyone, whether it was Whites, Arabs, Madhows, Chinese, anyone. And if I ever fail in life, then I will pick myself up and try again. Why would I ever need to blame others and feel like I'm the victim?

There are real people in the world being oppressed right now (Palestine, Chechnya, Burma, etc.) and my experiences growing up in the West are NOTHING compared to theirs. I'm grateful for what Allah has provided for us.

You will NEVER see a White Man, or an Indian Man, or a Chinese Man have this attitude. The White Man is confident in himself and in his abilities, and he never allows anyone to hold him back from achieving what he wants. We Somalis need to have this same attitude.

 I agree, I hate victim mentality and those who try to constantly use it.

I also hate the losers who are constantly crying on twitter about Gaza but couldn't give a flying monkey's ass about the thousands of people who starve to death in Somalia or who are killed by alshabab, ethiopia or other Mooryaan.

Not true. There are a lot of insecure people out there irrespective of their skin colour which play the victim card. It's not only black people that claim victimhood. In fact, they are less likely to verbalize their mistreatment, so as to avoid further scrutiny. In fact I have met plenty of cadaans that claim "why didn't I get a pay raise," or "how come I got rejected from this program" or "why am I jobless" and they are looking for someone to commiserate with. Also, a segment of them then go on discuss "white privilege," when they are living that hand-to-mouth life. They aren't captains of industry so it falls on deaf ears. So what if a 'few' white people are represented in positions of power and/or influence, the people I'm speaking with have none. Their power is thus limited and they can't call upon these people to mentor them or give them a break. What they do or what they have has no bearing on my success or where I go. These people look to statistics to boost their flimsy self-esteem. Its hilarious because your life is a testament that you aren't a statistic. And your mind is not as impoverished and myopic as theirs. I dislike when people try to justify their "lot" in life, but never do anything to change it (specifically those in the diaspora). Particularly when they aren't hampered by innumerable social constraints. I don't mean to sound individualistic but I think the biggest battle that is waged is in the mind. Opportunities come a dime a dozen. We're the ones that close and open doors. Don't get me wrong. I'm a collectivist at heart. I do believe in the helping our brothers and sisters out in the diaspora and at home. We want to be successful so as to give back more, and in turn hope they pay it forward.

I'd like to give people the benefit of the doubt. Maybe this guy has been at the receiving end of racism and xenophobia. I don't like judging others until I walked a mile in their shoes.
