La2 lol, honestly non of what i was writing had an accent, they were all misspelled. I'm only fluent in speaking for both somali and arabic, although i can read arabic a lot better then somali. i would never attempt to type in somali, smh. also i lived in saudi for a couple years when i was younger and have syrian cousins from there so you might detect the accent/slang i get from them abit.
where you from cherine? you arabic is too good for someone raised in the west.

There's no excuse for someone raised in a somali household not be able to understand and speak somali. Its one of the few things that makes you somali in the first place.

So a waqooyi kid speaks good Somali just because of his accent?
Plenty of reerxamar or banaadiri people speak good Somali, their accent is naturallu soft spoken and that maybe why some of you ignorant folk think they don't speak the language.
The only difference is that since the North has peace, it is easier to send kids back there. Laakin on an even-level playing field, cid cid ka fiican ma jirto.

I recall watching a video taking in Burco where the locals couldnt say their phone numbers correctly using somali words whilst they could in English. That taken place in Somalia/Somaliland I thought it was disgraceful to be honest.

Its true Somaliland kids speak better Somalis , its because the parenting is better Somaliland parents want to give their childeren a good package of language and always correct them when they dont speak proper af Somali. What i do notice is that Puntland kids always 90% speak with a reer xamar accent i have never seen a Puntland youth that speaks the strong bari or mudug accent
