Re: Yemen is the new Somalia and Saudi Arabia's Vietnam
you don't seem to get my point so I will give you the political background of yemenJaidi wrote:Sahal, Ali Muhsins troops and allied militias were the only ones who fought Houthis on their way to Sana'a. Trust me fall of Sana'a was about Saleh and Hadi to an extent. The first thing Houthis did when they made it to the capital was blow up Muhsin's home. He's in Jeddah now and is advisor to the Saudis on their intervention. Note how Islah officially supports the mission.
Yemen was ruled by a zaidia imamate since the middle ages till the 60s
The imam had high authority over the clans so during the revolution against the last imam, the tribal chiefs have joined it in order to replace him
A military officers were ruling the country in alliance with the hashid tribe the biggest yemini tribe
Its tribal chief was made the interior
He clashed with the officers-three presidents- until the last one removed him from the interior to another post
Al islah generally and al hashid specially were against the unity bc they want to keep the north under their tribal influence
The unity was suggesed in the south not the opposite
All the presidents of southren yemen like salim rabici and al biid have expressed their willingness to be vice presidents for the sake of unity
The predicessor of ali salah was getting closer to the south so they first announced a political socialist party wich was the former ruling party(the popular national congress) ahead of the supposed union
When the president tried to visit cadan he got assassinated by hashid and ali salah who replaced him was party of the conspiracy
Since that day he was in the hands of ala axmar
When they lastly accepted the union in the 90s, they stole every thing in the name of the two parties, the tribe and the army
They didn't show their readiness to share the country
Finally they took advantage of the institutional khilaf and declared jihad against the "communists"
Now, as the interim president is from the south, they see this a threat to their tribal interests and he has made yemen a federal country to help his region
Al hadi known ala axmars conspiracies, he refused to be used by them calling for a national dialogue and to design the future of yemen
When the houths arrived omran the province ala ahmer hail from they asked him to help them with the jet fighters
He told them this war is not between the state and houths and if you want my help you have to show me your support of the state!!
Can you just get out your houses in support of the govt?
They said no
And he as the president gives the orders so he said I won't sign any thing!
Now what was the al islah plan?
Al islah have committed wrong error
They planning to take advantage of the yemen spring and forgot about their partner, the president!
So, having control on the army, the sided with the revolution
The irony is that the US was supporting salih while mohsin was thinking that he can replace him!
As a result of al islah not cooperating with the interim president, the army got divided into pro-mohsin and pro-salih
Both of them did not defend sanaa and the state, salahs militia have fully joined the houths to get revenge from islah
One of the ala ahmer businessman and al islah leaders is called hamid al ahmer, this guy has stolen the house of the former south yemeni president in 94 and he lost it now
He was saying he can only gives him back if al biid himself calls him!!
And your talking about sharing with them a power!

I find it extremely offensive how we are used as the perfect example of what an utter failure is.

Islamists in yemen have started as one group just like the somali islamists
In yemen there r now three schools
The islah who still work as one group and it includes the tribal chiefs and the salafi jihadists like zindani
There's al salafiya al jadida wich was founded in yemen by this man
He is againist the jihad, bin la$in, sayid qutb and calls to obey the "muslim leaders"
R affiliated with al ictisam in somalia and the sheekh who was killed in PL by al shabab
Here he gives his fatwa regarding zindani and he says though he's a salafi he has to read the ikhwan books and see their unsalafi faith!

Sahal,
Its important We do not follow the lazy journalism of Western Media sometimes who struggle grasping all of this. We were born Muslim all our lives, been in the Middle east we don't need to parrot western media slogans like 'wahabi wahabi wahabi'. Nobody calls themseles wahabbi and when You go to these places people will laugh at You. The Salafi I was talking about was what You termed Salafi Jadeed (The Way Somalis say it). Zindaani is Ikhwaani, and the "salafis" You say are aligned with Him are the Suruuriyuun, Qutubiyuun or more commenly known as AQAP.
The Salafis in yemen have their Maraakiz in Ma'bar, Dammaj where so many Somali youth studied. These are the ones who involve zero in politics and all they would call to is for people to accept Ali Abdalla Saleh and not revolt or take up arms. Jaidi knows who I am talking bout, and they were the ones that were despised by pratically everyone. As it speaks right now Dammaj their biggest Markaz was burned to the ground by Houthis. They despised these Guys because Ali Abdalla Saleh used to protect them against the Houthis.
