BV, I do not agree with insulting xalimos at all or creating pointless threads to attract attention like some of our unnamed members do because it is counterproductive.

I defend the right to call a spade a spade if the subject of how Somali females are more likely to engage in self hate is brought up in a healthy discussion about what ails our diaspora community.

She definitely gets me curious since she's a fellow Somali woman. I don't think this is my first time asking why she says such things but she never gives me an answer

We are a collectivistic society thrust into an individualist one, the cracks are starting to show. My single point that I don't want us drifting from is to agree that insulting Somali women in general on SomaliNet shouldn't be condoned and in deed throwing casual insults towards the men shouldn't either

I think we are in the heart of a struggle between two incompattible cultural influences, the somali one and the western one - which we are exposed to everyday.
I think it's a matter of the fact that
1) debauchery and ethnic disloyalty (im not conflating the two) happens regardless of what society you live in.
2) we need to mentally adapt, we need to cease judging people collectively because some or many assimilated Somalis (whom are reallly outlier in the grand scheme of things) commit behaviour that's unrepresentative of the wider group.
3) However i do think trends need to be highlighted and discuss in a civil manner. For example the issue with xalimos signing up to getting married en masse through the mosuque registrations to people of dubious background.

BV, men talk about sexual exploits casually and many non Muslims ethnics/cadaans are not aware of how much it injures old skool Somalis when they comment on our Somali females.

I am a realist, shit happens and I sure will not be offended or white knight if a non Somali guy tells me in a random ciyaal suuq conversation about his past conquests. Seen too much to overcome the effects it had on me when was I a naive soul. Now, it is all about being concerned with your ilk and nothing more.

What caused offence in that particular example is that she chose to attack her menfolk? Maybe she had a few bad experiences or lost her virginity to a Somali player that played her like a fool? Still, it does not excuse her actions.
