I'd congratulate them and zealously champion for the immediate enactments of every bilateral agreement known to mankind between Somalia and Somaliland, from security, trade, travel, right through to societal and cultural aspects. Two independent and sovereign states, yet associated with one another to such a degree that no entity could regard either without acknowledging the other.

An unremitting and total alliance between Somalia and a Somaliland which bespeaks kinship.

Why should Somaliland or any of the other lalalands get international recognition? So you can bring out your begging bowl? So your clan leaders can use international aid to build a mansion in London or Nairobi?

You want to be recognized because you held elections? Maintain peace? So what? That is expected of human beings.

My middle school of 13 and 14 year olds elected a student body president. And our election was free and fair unlike in Africa where people like Silaanyo stuff the ballot box and where 5 year olds can vote 5 or 6 times.

For first time I agree with you. What makes Somaliland different from other Somali regional government different is that it supports the terrorist entity of Al-Shabaab. I say again Somaliland and Ethiopia are 2 entities that support Al-Shabaab. It destabilizes other Somali regions, so it can gain the ever elusive recognition Therefore, no recognition.

I agree with all of the above. Accept sool & sanaag should be excluded from the new somaliland state.

If Somaliland actually gets recognized by the international community, then Sool & Sanaag should definitely join it. It would be utterly retarded to join South Somalia in such a hypothetical case.

They would join puntland not southern somalia. As puntland could go for recognition too.
