As I have stated in other Threads, I STRONGLY believe the Terrorizing, Torture, Mutilation and Traumatizing of Children to be the Principal Cause of Many of the Hardships faced by the Somali People (wherever they are in the World)!!

Ours is a sick culture! Torture, and Habitual Abuse of Children is NORMAL!! Women and Children are Suffering. You CANNOT have a peaceful society when your entire population has been or will be Tortured!!

The Mutilation of the Children's (Male and Female) Genitals will result in a DEVASTATING effect on the Body and Mind. The entire Human Constitution will be DAMAGED, and will become CORRUPTED.

A Mutilated Male is no longer a Whole Human Being! His ManHood was stolen from him by ignorant parents. He will NEVER know what it means to be a Whole Human Being and an Intact Man! The same is true of the Mutilated Female.

Morally deranged parents hold down their Children and Terrorize, Torture, Mutilate and Traumatize them!! The COLOSSAL effect this Treachery has on society is evident!

How many marriages have ended as a result of the Mutilation of the sexual organs of couples when they were Children? Somalis have it worse than most other peoples, as there is a high rate of Mutilation for Both Sexes. The Genital Mutilation rate for Females in Somalia is 96% to 98%. For Males, it is 100%. It doesn't take a brain surgeon to figure out that this is an Abomination with Catastrophic Consequences!!

Somalia has one of the highest prevalence rates of female circumcision in the world. In a recent survey, at least 98 per cent of women said they had undergone the process, which is performed by traditional practitioners using a knife or razor blade on girls aged between 4 and 8.

As I have stated elsewhere, I believe many Somali people are suffering from mental illnesses as a result of having been Tortured and Mutilated. You have an entire country, where the Terrorized, Tortured, Mutilated and Traumatized Children have been Brain DAMAGED! You have parents Terrorizing and Torturing their Children, and then afterward acting like everything is Okay!! Though they may be loving parents, clearly something is not right with them! Note: I am not saying Genital Mutilation is the only cause of mental illnesses.

The Somali People are some of the most Violent people on Earth! Is the Horrific Trauma visited on Somali Children mainly responsible for this?

Circumcision in general is an old tradition among Afro-Asiatic/Hamito-Semitic-speaking populations. Circumcised ancient Egyptian mummies have been found and male circumcision was also depicted on the walls of temples in ancient Egypt, well prior to the birth of Islam:



With regard to female circumcision, the particular variety that is most commonly practiced in the Horn is infibulation or Type III. Although this variant is also known as “Pharaonic circumcision”, this is inaccurate because the ancient Egyptians mainly instead practiced clitoredectomy or Type I female circumcision. It was actually another early Afro-Asiatic population, the pre-Islamic Arabs, that for the most part practiced infibulation. So did the Romans. The early Arabs developed the custom for practical reasons i.e. to protect their unaccompanied shepherd girls from attacks by strangers. For their part, the Romans practiced it to ensure chastity:

The tradition was later spread in areas adjacent to Northeast Africa by other Afro-Asiatic-speaking populations; mainly by early Cushitic groups. However, most of the Bantu/Nilotic populations that subsequently adopted the custom from them don't actually practice infibulation. They instead mainly practice clitoredectomy. The few such groups that do practice infibulation also often put their own peculiar little twists to it without ever really being aware of its Afro-Asiatic origins or understanding the original, practical purposes behind the custom.
