It has been majority non-Somali for many years. Even stats from the 80s and 90s show it to be majority Xabash/Oromo.
I'll get back to you on that, we're talking Somali clan grounds though. Dire Dhaba has never been Ogaden grounds.

If so, we might as well start counting Minneapolis as a Somali city.

Just kidding.

 OK I admit--I might be subconsciously hating and not know it. Both dumb qabils are reputed beauties, but with no brains, therefore, that is precisely why I want to observe them. :eat:

The place was built by Somalis. Who cares if Xabeshis and Oromos live there en masse - they are the bulk of Ethiopia's population, and will probably migrate anywhere that they find opportunities. I have relatives there that are doing well.

It's Ethiopia's second largest city and part of the Harar region. Of course there will be an influx of other ethnic groups, it even borders the Oromia region. Although I don't really think those censuses are correct, since a large chunk of Dir clans identify as Oromo too and are even part of their region. One has to to think for himself instead of just reading statistics. It has been Dir land for centuries.

There are more Oromos and Amharas in Dir Dhabe than Somalis.

75% of the city is Ethiopian.
its Somali dir city . Unakaa iska leh. The xabashis increased when Somalis especially dir people moved into the other three capitals surounding diridhaba (Djibouti, hargeisa, jigjiga) if we move back xabashidu meel ay martay la arki maayo.

That is right. I laughed when he said Dira Dhabe is OG town.

If I had to choose a city with no significant clan presence, it would be Xamar but then realized Xamar has the same weather (almost) as Djibouti, coastal town and villas left and right...so I pick Erigavo, up on the mountain with cool breeze. I want my satellite phone and dish to come with me, perhaps, a fine looking Warsangeli girl to keep me company, too.

:win: It was bound to happen. You should have told them where your clan families do not traditionally reside (exclamation mark). Some of these folks are tribal xenophobes. Garoweboy I see you too. :smugruss:

Somewhere with a beach, a nice breeze, great shopping and transportation links, and good locals.
