BBC - Al-Shabab loses key Bardere stronghold

Kenyan and Somali government soldiers entered south-western Bardere town, which has been under al-Shabab control since 2008, backed by heavy weapons and air support, residents told the BBC.

You are absolutely right that Aidid brought about this mess. I may also add that you are partially correct. We cannot discount the fact that former junta, led by Siad Barre, was equally culpable of the destruction of Somalia. Let us be objective in our analysis.
