Horta, if Somalilanders go and take Somali passport to go to Haj is not a major issue,and that doesn't make them from konfur, simply because having a travel document doesn't make you a citizen to that country.

In Canada or USA you need to have a birth certificate or certificate of citizenship to prove you are a citizen, the passport is a personal identification to be used at the international borders for passage, even refugees or stateless people can get their hands on a temp passports to travel but that doesn't make them citizens.

Somalia never had any form of identification to anyone who holds its passport,hence they got mad when SLND as usual took the initiative and went forward a step for their people and started a nationwide process to register all of its citizens in a national ID program funded by the government.
I remember even some of my family friends who got a British Citizenship without stepping a foot in UK,since they were born in Aden during the British colonization,in the process they said they were using a Somali passport ever since they left Aden ,and the British authorities accept their application since a Somali travel document is not proof those personnel were citizens .

in Arab gulf countries they have a citizenship family book,where your whole family tree is registered ,even if you have a new baby born,you have to add him/her to the family book to get citizenship.

that is why countries don't accept Somali passport as a valid travel document,and in a few times they stamp the visa on a separate paper...
