Great lists guys - thanks for sharing.
Seems like all the nice sounding Somali traditional male names are long. Would be nice if more of them had meanings.
Some of them sound extremely boastful/borderline shirk e.g Ceebla (without any fault) , Sharmaarke , Rooble (one who brings rain)
While I love the idea of resurrecting our traditional names, I do see the importance of naming children after traditional Islamic figures.
Perhaps I would do both, by incorporating middle names too.
Something like this : Idil Maryam
Ladan Aasiya
Arragsan Zainab
Keenadiid Tariq
Kooshin Bilal
hmmm, but then they have to sound nice together too. This is more tricky than I thought.
