Siad had no long term vision for his war. Did you really think poor Somalia has the resources and manpower to control Ethiopia a country much larger, richer in resources, had more international allies and importance and more than three times the manpower?? Nope... the Ethiopian people would eventually have resorted to guerilla warfare while the army used conventional tactics, and pushed you out even if you were lucky enough to occupy half of Ethiopia back then....even America's spending billions if not a trillion or more to occupy Iraq, Afghanistan, and they went in with many allies....both from within and outside of Iraq....does Somalia have that kinda money or allies or manpower....no...
And come to 2016, Ethiopia has more say in Somalia than Somalis do. In the horn, Ethiopia is a powerful force, whether your pride allows you to admit it or not.
