Ahem i beg to differ. I think much of the western world before they regard Somalis as black they first regard them as starving pirates, potential jihadi terrorists, refugees, a welfare crowd depending on largess and handouts and destroyers of their own country.

From where i sit blacks in the west would do well to not have any association with somalis...as overal its an L.

Due to refugee crisis, Somalis are currently associated with those descriptions you mentioned but that will fade away as time goes on. But that's only if you actually ask people who are Somalis and/or they care enough to know we're Somalis. If you sit at back and see how people treat Somalis, you will see it's same as the way people treat blacks.

We have our stereotypes and unique cultural identity that are only exposed if we come forward as Somalis. Most of times, people can easily tell us apart but don't bother because we're blacks after all. Any missing pieces in our stereotypes and/or identity will be replaced with the one from blacks.

I'm not saying our identity and stereotypes would be positive if we distanced themselves from blacks but I'm saying it's better to have a separate identity as blacks at least, this is something we can change as time goes on because our cultural identity is linked to whatever happens in Somalia and other Somali regions and we're small community.

Somalis were actually considered as Caucasoid peoples under the subcategory Hamitic. In terms of skeletal craniofacial structure, prognathism and dental form and so on, Somalis and other particular groups form the Horn of Africa fall under Caucasian. But in terms of Skin colour and in many instances hair type (with even that being markedly different to Southern and Western Africans) they fall under the black category.

There seemed to have been a massive uproar by African American historians who pointed out that Whites were essentially trying to divide Africa and steal it's history by lumping a large portion of it's dark skinned population as being Caucasian. I suspect the one drop rule also has a lot to play in this whole confusion, as in America having just a small amount of African (West African Negro, they refer to as) blood would designate you as being black.

That is why people like Halle Berry are considered black, despite the fact that she has a white mother.

Now as Somalis we have always had our own identity and we really should not be mixing in these affairs. Even other African groups always only referred to themselves by their ethnic group rather than by this ubiquitous meaningless umbrella term black. The counter argument to preferring simply calling yourself by your true ethnic tribal name is usually "white people will see you as a black negro anyway", as if what others might perceive or choose to call you should have any bearing on who you are.

I do not see Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese peoples calling themselves yellow people, because that is how Europeans see them. Neither do they undermine their languages and cultures instead simply choosing to pick yellow as their racial and ethnic name.

If these dynamics are not properly understood and thought through, we will be seeing a widespread destruction of our language, culture and ultimately religion without us even realising it. Today you choose to be cool and hip by accepting this meaningless label, tomorrow your children will be suffering your choices as is already happening. Our people really should start to learn how to think for themselves and not let others dictate to us in any shape fashion or form!

You said exactly what was on my mind. Just gonna add a few things and piggy back off your brilliant post.

Every Time I see this shit I visibly sigh out loud. How can these dumb cunts claim to be "woke" when they subscribe to the very system the white man literally established to conquer them? It seems that these brainwashed low self-esteemed retards just want to fit in with what is hip and "in" nowadays. No heart. No balls. No courage.

Just a bunch of sheeple.

The worst part is the arguments. I've been listening to this bullshit pretty recently and the only thing I'm getting from these people is "huurrr duuur my skin is black therefore I'm black".

What the fuck does this even mean? :wtf: :wtf:

Is the aborigine considered "black"? His level of melanin certainly meets our standards right? Or is he disqualified because he doesn't hail from Africa?

On another note, the cognitive bias is real. They will adamantly spout that Africa is the most diverse continent while simultaneously claiming we're all the same and group us together because of our shared skin colour? Lolwhat?

There are many observable characteristics of the various groups of humans inhabiting this planet.

-Height
-Bone mass
-Bone structure
-DNA sequences
-Hormonal profiles
-Racial IQ
-Age of starting puberty
-scent
-Amount of skin pores
-Hair texture
-Eye colour
-Various physically adapted features due to environmental pressure such as slanted eyes, muscle twitch fiber distribution, increased level of fat cells to combat hunger and extreme weather in winter etcetera

And many more.

If we're going to use skin colour as a factor to analyse and classify the various groups of the Homosapien species, why not just be honest and use all the above? Why stop at just skin colour?

Wanna know why?

Because their whole argument will fall apart at the seams. These imbeciles will be forced to concede that there are far more genetic differences between the Nigerian farmer and the Somali Nomad than the French sailor and the English knight.

The Filipinos, Sri-Lankans, Native North American Indians, Aborigine people of Australia, certain tribes of Arabs in Yemen, the Kurds, the extinct tribe of the Aztecs of South America, Islanders such as the Samoans and Maoris are just some of the people who come to mind with beautiful dark skin that are not classified as African.

If I brought you an African who matched the exact same shade of the above groups - which is possible - are they the same? What about a Japanese man and a Russian man? Both are of pale skin no? Can one claim to be the other and vice-versa? Of course not, to say otherwise is tantamount to deceit and foolishness.

To compartmentalise humanities many number of ethnic groups into mere colours is not only misguided and indicative of a sinister agenda, but an insult to the beautiful diversity that Allah has created and blessed man with.
