The way I see it is the order that existed in Somali inhabited lands prior to nationhood or colonization for that matter, was not ideal, but it worked, if a clan engaged in war with another and won, the losing clan would have no means to beg foreigners with their malicious intent to intervene, so the losing clan was forced to accept reality and work out some settlement, and the winning clan would practice restraint and compassion, the elders would get involved and even though the losing clan might have lost land, wealth or something like this, their lives would continue and their culture, their religion and way of life would not have been infringed upon by foreigners, there would not be a constant state of war and a race to the bottom. There would be peaceful time and people could build up without restriction. When we got nationhood under the kacaan, people were actually free to build their lives, as much as they didn't like the ruling family they had freedoms, today they lack many of those freedoms for this false pride that they are independent from any clan when in reality they all come under much more foreign entities that aren't even Somali or Muslim.

As I said, this lander is basically accepting this foreigner to be some constant that exist outside of his world that he has no control or influence over, so he sides with them when its in his clan rivals are up against them and then doubles back when his clan is affected, all Somalis have overtime become like this.
