No matter how you sugarcoat it, it doesn't change the reality on the ground. Action speak louder than words. Your people are inherently land expansionist at the expense of others including civilizations, read Adal.
We all know what happened in Djibouti yesterday. Illegal aliens without proper paper documents had the audacity to come out en masse (Lord knows where you people hide the rest of the time) and demand justice! The nerve. All the while there is pogrom going on at this very moment in Babile, going after the weakest link of Somalis in Ethiopia, Karanle. We are very accommodating people but Oromos have been emboldened by another hybrid Amhar/Oromo at the leadership. Much like other hybrids like Menelik and Selaisse who emboldened past generations.
Our patience can only go so far. There is such thing as compassion fatigue. Somalis everywhere are giving notice to Oromos to be civil and move back to their land. The alternative is conflagration of the Horn.
Can you people just leave us alone and move out of our lands. We deport you, you come back. This has been happening since Djibouti's independence. Walahi, I'm baffled by this. Oromia is rich in land and resources and yet you keep crossing desert to come to our cities, akin to Mexicans swimming the Rio Grande to get to America. Should we call Oromos 'Dry backs'?
We are not expanding into any land. If the Jarso decide they want to be with the Oromo brethren, shouldn’t they have hat right? Just the way the Hawiye, and other dir amongst us have the right to chose the be with the Somalis.
People are getting angry with no knowledge as to what is actually going on. There is a border war going on between Liyyu and Oromia state police. Jimma San is getting hit very hard. The reason Oromia state police is there is because the town is under Oromia jurisdiction, not ddsi. Liyyu have no right here. If Oromia state police move out of their jurisdiction, Liyyu have every right to defend, common sense.
This is not civilian vs civilian, it’s state police and their corrupt leaders causing chaos. There is no assistance or help from the government for either side of the border, civilians are dying by the day.
We have plenty of land that’s is sufficient enough for us, why do we need yours? It’s not a thing we want. Oromos are farmers, we farm in our land given to us by father etc for generations. We are no longer nomads looking for better land for our livestock. We’re settled farmers. If you voted to leave ddsi as the Jarso, wouldn’t you fight back if the Liyyu came and attacked you?
You have your land, we have ours.. let’s keep it this way.
The Oromos living in Jabuuti for the most part have been there since the 70s/80s. I have relatives that have been there and only speak Somali/Arabic/French. They escaped the regime of Haile Salasie, Mengistu, and Meles. The majority of them are from eastern Hararge, and good chunk from Dire Dhawa. The reason they felt going to Jabuuti was because the lived in peace with the Issa in DD and surrounding, and looked as you as their brethren. There was never any negative vibes towards Somalis in the past, Oromos truly respected and loved them. Today it’s a little harder with politics.
At the end of the day, we don’t want your land, and never have. Most the people you’d meet only wish for the freedom of Oromos. They don’t want to harm others. Don’t get me wrong we all have those amongst us screwing things up for ye rest, and destroying our names, bu you can’t blame the entire population for that small percentage. That’s like the west hating on Muslims for the few cowards who claims to be Muslim and terrorizing others.
I’m sure many want to leave and go home, but many also have fear returning. A lot of the people who left in the 70s&80s were supporters of the OLF. My dad is one of them, and he hasn’t returned in over 40 years. It isn’t easy, most people try to get to the west from there. There are some sponsorship programs for those in Djibouti and SL. They don’t go to stay and take over. They just want to leave the HOA and use the route for exit.
