Ogaden is the largest Somali sub-tribe period
they truly are a nation
at some stage the Ogaden were the defense minister for Somalia (gabyoow) and Kenya (Baroow) and also Ethiopia
why didn't they arrange a coordinated coup d'etat in those three counteries @ once
talking about missed opportunities
However numerous the Ogaden had failed to come up with a unified political stance thus far, its like they have their Darood and Hawiyas in their Ogaden tribe

\"If Somalis are ten million at least five of them are Ogadeens. \"
Tell us more fool? Do you think Somali Galbeed is all Cagdheer?
You know nothing.
Somali Galbeed has two large cities - Dire Dawa and Jigjiga, both have a minority Cagdheer population.
In fact, Cagdheers are only found pockets in the center of the region, they are surrounded by other clans from every angle. If you go to the Somaliland border, it is predominently Isaaq territory. If you go to the Somalia border, it is populated by other Somali clans. If you go Southern parts of the Somali Galbeed, you will meet a lot of Hawiye clans. If you go the North Western it is predominantly DIR region.
If there was a census done in Somali Galbeed today, the Cagdheers would be happy if they make 30% of the total population.
This is sooooooo laughable walahi.
The population of ogadenia is about 5-6 million.Approximately 75% of the population are ogadens the rest are land grabbers.
Gamadid,i have my reason for stated that fact,i'm pretty sure its the correct facts no doubt about it.
Ogadenia is inhabited by ogadens is a well known fact. And the rest are land grabbers.
"Or develope their cities in Ethiopia and Kenya. Today Jigjiga and Godey look much better than most somali cities.......matter of fact, I think Jigjiga is bigger than any city in Somalia except of Muuqdisho and Xargaysa"
Thanks for stating that.People have this image that ogadenia is just a dried up land with no infrastructure.Godey, jigjiga are way developed places to live.
Since Ethiopian existant is uncertain many people think freedom in ogadenia is around the corner and start buying lands.

Did you say SYL was a hawiye party
dat shows how much you know about southern somali history!!!since they were so anti-qabiil nobody really knows the 13 founding members of SYL but the fact they had offices in both Ogaden and NFD areas says alot! Its also funny how you failed to mention the USP in british somaliland which included gadubursi, dhulbahante and warsangeli!
during 1960-66 we had a hawiye president with a darood prime-minister then 1966-69 we had a darood president with isaaq prime-minister then we had a darood dictatorship but if we are such a minority why was there never ever a period of time when darood was absent from both the prime-minister and presidency??

According to this, Hawiye comprise 25% (6 sub clans), Isaaq 22% (4 sub clans) and Daarood 20% (5 sub clans). And this is just in Somalia. So deriving the actual number to include those living abroad would be a tough task, when factoring in the disparate numbers of sub clans.
some darood sub-clans are missing but anyway
According to this report darood is the largest... http://www.dnd.ca/somalia/vol1/v1c11e.htm
"According to the documents, the five major clans, are, in order of numerical strength: the Darod, which inhabits the southwestern and northeastern regions; Siad Barre is a member of this clan; the Hawiye, another nomadic tribe living in the central eastern region; the Isaaq, the third nomadic tribal grouping living in the central region; the Dir, in the north-west; and the Rahanwein, the main non-nomadic clan grouping practising agriculture in the south."

Dont wanna be rude but did you include all the donkeys in somalia? Abgaal cant compart themself with oganden let alone a subclan..

^Well the attitude we display has a reason. You probably would say the same thing. You can call it disgusting, but no one has the right to come into a place and start debating us they own some of the properties.
Lord Diplock,Garissa???? I think we're better off not having this place. Its infected with kenyans, and Aids.We have own 9 provineces, and 48 districts we dont need Garissa.

Do you honestly believe every non-ogaden somali in Ogadenia is a land grapper? You do know there are many cities in this region where Ogadens have never set foot. Anyhow somalis are the least of your worry.........you should worry about the Oromos who are encroaching on your land and claim half of Ogadenia to be theirs.
ogadeen is probably the largest sub-clan. btw...
why don't they campaign to become a part of somaliland. they have lived in close proximity with isaaq sub-clans for ever and it seems like joining a functioning government like s/land's would be their only way to get back land from eithiopia.
even relatively minority sub-clans like gadabursi have been generously represented and anyway, even if they don't get on like a house on fire... betta 2 be governed by a majority isaaq fovernment then an eithipian right?
