Some of you seem to be having problems giving M.S.B any credit for what he has accomplished and rather know only how to be negative. Cough lionheart cough. Maybe Mohamed siyad barre wasn’t the best thing that ever happened to Somalia but at least he held Somalia together and we were a whole. We were recognized/ accepted and respected by other nations. I guess after so many years of war and destruction, most of Somalis haven't learned anything cajib.

Dimwit homor (I refuse to capitalize your name) If you are looking for someone to blame....blame the warlords as far as am concerned they destroyed Somalia. The country is in turmoil because of their actions and stupidity.

I still don’t understand why a Bantu..... Would have a deep hatred towards Gedo folks.Confused

Maxamed Siyaad Barre was the greatest Somali leader of all time. After the downfall of his government look how degraded Somalia has become:

The Isaaq have become Soomaali Diid and pimp themselves like a prostitute to all comers. When they are England they declare that they are English Orphans. The other day they were in Addis Ababa begging and beseeching the Tigre regime of Ethiopia, the same Ethiopia that used to tremble whenever the name of Somalia was mentioned when Mujaahid Maxamed Siyaad Barre was ruling Somalia.

In the south we have jokers like Suudi Yalaxow and Maxamed Dheere running amok.

Siyaad .. come Back ... Somalia Misses You
It's imperative that Somalis should erect a statue for the late President of Somalia for the achievements he accomplished during his tenure of the supreme post.
How typical of "Ilkayar" to dismiss the dark legacy of Afwayne and go about dictating erecting a statue for such a man who's only legacy is the current civil war of Somalia and the mass graves of so many innocent lives.

And on top of this he persecuted Muslims who were slowly coming to grips with the fact that this "deen" is not a cultural relic to be practiced on Friday, but that it is a complete and systematic way of life. So when they demanded that Islam be implemented on the political arena, they were mercilessly persecuted by his regime and it's Gestapo forces. Whether it was by the execution of 11 scholars, or mass jailings and subsequent torture...yet their are those who still prays the man Crying or Very sad

Siyaad was a great leader. He did make mistakes, as most people would admit, but i dont think people have yet the right to blame him for the sinns he committed, until the overall situation of somalia improves, and gets to a level where it can compete with siyaad's time.

Lugooyo, hateful kids have been spoon-fed whatever prejudices their parents held. What does a kid who grew up in Kansas know about Somalia or what Siad Barre ruled over?

For an excellent topic, this is dedicated to you Jaalle:

Advocator,

Laughing Laughing Laughing

War Bes dee!!..seriously i love the Elements sincere mj devotion Laughing ..but the Wadaads stunt with Barre was a religious shame, everyone knows it, Ayaan Hersii's father and the likes. I bet it was about bring down the country for a few equity laws made by the president..or was it waadaads trying to revive majeeertenia..yeah okay, we know what that motive was all about!! Laughing

TarrQ,

i couldn't have said it better myself. Afterall, it was in this man's reign that we finally wrote down and began studying our own language...God bless Barre, he is still unchalllenged in his witt ,autonomy and wisdom.

..and to the Fool trying to compare YEY to Barre, you must be kidding? i mean seriously?either your just being dumb or throwing empty praise at at YEY. C/Yusuf will never compare to Barre. Never! and he knows it too.
