If those who overthrew him didn't have a better plan, then it was stupid to overthrow him.
----
Mogadishu people would do it all over again, I am definetly sure that all people prefer freedom under anarchy than oppression and corruption under Barre.
Ofcourse the ones who were used to drive in Landcruiser still dream of those days when Barre was firmly in power
Times chang, so move on.

Exactly why I told you to go back and re-read whatever history book you may have got hidden somewhere... or else borrow some in your nearest library.
In the same year, 1984, that Khat was BAN, the SNM in full scale war with Afwayne. In fact, the SNM broke the Birjex Jail and freed more than 200 political prisoners in that same year.

Somaliweyn,
I have many Abgaal and other Hawiye friends, and they are the FIRST to tell me: "If we knew this was going to happen, we would never want Siad Barre to go away."
As for the LandCruisers, I never had one and I can buy one today if I want with my own money, so Allah is the one who feeds me and I don't have to feel sorry or ashamed for that.
In fact, just a few months ago I bought my mother a Fully Loaded Toyota HighLander, so I guess we are still driving LandCrusiers
. And the Govt. is not here for you to accuse me of stealing because I'm Marexaan

That's what I'm telling you to do.........MOVE ON.
You can't blame Mxmd Siad Barre for what happens in 2005,2006,2007
That's an irresponsible mentality.......it's like the African Americans who are still saying: "We were enslaved, that's why we are living like this."
Everytime a Hawiye leader/warlord is irresponsible, you say "beesha hebel ma matelo".........and everytime there is a corrupt Darood you say far worse things.
That is being clouded in judgment, that is being delusional.

Are you sure they were not from Gedo
And by the way, does it feel better to buy something you have actually worked for? I drives better doesn't it?
Barre is responsible for what much of what happened. And ofcourse everyone of us is responsible for the consequences of our actions.
If Barre does not represent you then stop defending the atrocities he commited. Be objective and see what the man did and the consequences of his actions.

Look @ the Isaaqs, they blame the current leaders for their current problems. They administer their own lands, set up their own system.
Judging by that, I believe the Govt. was wrong in some of the things they did, and I would have advised Siad Barre to include more of them in the Govt. instead of focusing only on the South.
Adiga you're still stuck in "Blame Siad Barre" phase.......you use this to hide your own failures.......
Everyday you come here and try to cover the latest Hawiye leader's isku xaar xaar, waxaa un taqaanaa how to shift blame.

Ask my mom, I rarely drive it.
See, there's your problem.......you assume I stole something because I'm Marexaan. If you want to paint so broad a picture, it goes both ways. How does it feel as a Hawiye to:
1. Have a hyena in your house to charge for taking jin out of sick people.
2. Steal a person's liver and sell it on the black market.
3. Perform highway robbery every single day.
4. Steal, rob, and rape.
5. Kidnap people for ransom.
These are all things Hawiye did, why don't I verbally attack you with that?
Because I'm better than that
