It is hard to tell. I am not going to lie and say my family was well off. My father had to work his ass to make a living but still we were not that bad. I would probably be abroad, if not, I would be managing my fathers farm in Kamaatireey with my brothers.

I would probably be in the military like my father, knowing myself I would probably be in galbeedka tending to some camels with multiple wives and dozens of kids.

I couldn't help noticing that most of the people that posted here, all seem to be coming from a well off background back home. I mean, everyone is mentioning about moving abroad for studies, living in some villa, or vacationing in exotic places. Where are the poor people or are they still stuck in Somalia?

Wallahi in some ways I am glad the civil war happened and I actually see the need to educate myself and make something productive of my life. Otherwise I would be the spoiled arrogant favorite son of a powerful man who would have chaffeurs driving him around and vacation overseas in Bahamas and shit. Sadly I would probably be a playboy taking advantage of miskiin chicks and slapping around people in the streets for fun.

In some ways I am glad Allah saved me from that.

I don't even remember it but I remember my mom telling me one positive thing from the civil war is no there is no chance of becoming a spoiled, alcoholic wastrel who gives her headache and embarrasses the family name with unimaginable antics like a lot of sons born to prominent families back in the day.

man i don't care, i wish i was back home, ...well actually, at this age, my father would probably have long ago sent me abroad to study anyway, but still, i kind miss it. i left when i was 8.

Screw I am going to Africa next summer. I was supposed to go this summer but my internship is very important to me. I am going next summer inshallah to Kenya and mombasa, Gedo, Kismaayo, and balanbale and caabudwaaq along with Dubai for a week with pops and stopover in holland to meet some family I havent seen in long time.

Why don't you take trip?

My dad first refused to send me a ticket saying he won't give me a ticket when I went to go to Kismaayo cuz he thinks it is very unstable but I told him I want something to happen while I am there because I want to fight.

I'm jocking of course but I really want to fire AK47 and Kismaayo is the best place to do it towards the Indian ocean.
