Jr, you obviously don't see your hypocracy and the flaw in your reasoning. Let me ask you this; how do you expect us Southerners to recognize this transitional fiasco as a ligitimate government when you Northerners (supposedly supporters) don't even recognize them?
First off, I am glad you yourself have said you are Southerner. That said, Puntland was the creation and the behest of failed state of Somalia.... it was partially a state within a state… Puntland reached their resources as such, because there was no immediate government that governed Somalia at the time and there was no consultation from the south, so Puntland took on their own behalf to benefit resources within their reach to better their people. There is nothing wrong with that....Wouldn't you agree?

Of course Puntland is and was part of Somali throughout, but there was always somewhat distrust between the Northern Somalis and Southern Somalis after the civil war, which was the basis Puntland was founded. Now, given the climate of Somalia, I am sure every resource that is within Punland territory would be shared with rest of Somalia in due time, however, the management of these resources should always stay in the hands of the local government imo.

Demure,
Most Puntlanders support The TFC hence the huge welcome of both A/Yusuf and Geedi when they came to Bossaso. The puntland leaders also support the TFG and as you know, once you sign deal with a company, you can't backtrack or yo'll face the ire of the people you have made deal with. Puntland made deal with a host of companies and it won't back off untill it gets a compensation from the TFG in the event of international law suit

Jr, fair enough. However, Just as you are looking out for your region interests, we are also interested in our region interests and the prosperity potential of the South does not encompass the current assembly of TFG. They need to go, simple as that. As you obviously understand the level of incompetency and the existing strata of nepotism within TFG, hence the strong hesitation to fully come under their rule, how do you expect us to blindly agree to them, when they brought on Xabasha and are directly involved in mounting civilian deaths in Mogadishu. I'm sorry no can't do.

Yes I'm a full blown southerner, born and raised in Mogadishu and family is mainly from Mogadishu and Merka. Never been north of Balcad.

If all involved are actively sincere, this could probably be bypassed via organizations like DAC of OECD and other international development aid programs.

the asylum aka puntland is nothing to be proud of. Its a mini version of how somalia use to be with the majerteen playing the role the marexaan use to play.Somebody needs to explain to them this system has been tried and tested and it has failed misrabley. What they need to do is take a lief out od the qaldaans system in somaliland and see if they can get power from the ballot and not the gun becouse obvouisely the gun doesn't work American in iraq is a perfect expample.
