I understand that, but I'm saying the system in the UK, North America are also partly to blame. The documentary did mention about unemployment among the parents being a problem, and if that is not addressed and the UK and other western nation don't help immigrants integrate and find jobs then their is no way to leave the environment.

Also, I don't know the specifics of how the UK system works, but the problem with most western education is they put too much emphasis on preparing students for university/college and not on trade and business, or practical ways of making legal money. Some boys at the high school level could benefit from this.

Also from what I've seen the UK seems like a violent and racist society. I've seen how rowdy those English soccer fans can get, and it doesn't look like a somali problem rather a national problem. At the end of the day it's up to the individual as you said, but if you give more options, they are likely to take it.

I agree with you that the settling of poor Somali immigrants in rough neighborhoods is delibrate, so that all the minorites can be bunched together in disadvantaged areas where they cannot compete. Actually I know quite a bit of people from not only UK but Europe in general. One thing they tell me is that the difference between the racism in America and Europe is that in Europe its more blatant and direct while in America its a little more subtle. You can also lump Canada in the same boat with Europe. However one thing I cannot comprehend is what the purpose is in accepting immigrints only to have them languish in ghettos and bring the property value of parts of your city down? I don't understand why hauling these people into ghettos will help these cadaan guys?

The thing is , western societies HOPE that these people will someday INTEGRATE.
I mean it is very easy for me to say , sitting here, but the fundamental question I would ask myself wouyld be--->
"Is this my new home{ wether it is the US, UK...} and do I belong here or not?"
If the answer is yes, then you act accordingly , I would in my own case , let's say even if the unemployment rate was high , join the armed forces { that's just one example} or whatever but behave as I OWN the madafaka.
The elders and all the different sectors of the somali male population you all are blaming these youngtsers deficiencies for DO NOT FEEL THEY BELONG!!!!{ that's why they chew qaat , to escape reality }
