Also prove otherwise of the historic and documented claims I've made and will provide sources. Otherwise I am to believe every single Isaaq is delusional and is a "hater" of all things the great Daroods of the North did.

Voltage, in your collection of historic maps, Durduri is still a major coastal town in Sanaag.
It is the principal settlement of Reer Fatah--the most civilized sub-clan of Warsangeli.

[quote="Voltage"]James, your third map was by far one of the most correct one, but the rest were not.
In the 1800's Italian signore described from Harrar area to Sinadaqo, a suburb of Dhuusamareeb being Mareexaan country
http://bp1.blogger.com/_lQqLEOk7nKg/Rqs ... obechi.bmp
In 1900, this map shows Marehaan living as far as Sool in Boohodle, a timespan you say Mareexaan was only in Dhusamareb area

In 19th century we were crossing the Jubba river as MUSLIM MISSIONARIES OUT TO ISLAMIZE SOUTH OF THE JUBBA
http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u111 ... 0Jubba.jpg
By 1914 the Italians estimated Mareexaan and Ogaden population to be the same in Jubbaland, a land you gave "aulihan"
http://bp2.blogger.com/_93eAGUfvip8/Rqo ... nd1897.JPG
In that same time, British expedition shows Mareexaan as being exclusive the clan between Baardheere to southern Ethiopia, proofing the mass Mareexaan migration that came as a result of Islamic missionary

http://bp0.blogger.com/_93eAGUfvip8/R2q ... nlyih6.png
Shortly Afterwards Jubbaland was declared as being "Marehan Country" by the English Ambassador to Sudan
http://bp2.blogger.com/_93eAGUfvip8/RrY ... ountry.JPG
At that same time, the Sayid boasts of his Mareexaan allies, using their alliance as the epitome of his power due to their extensive territories

"Ayeeyaa waxeey tiri" looma baahna. I challenge everyone to put forth historical documents to back up their claims (as Voltage has done) or to abstain from making outlandish claims to boast their clan(s) significance(s).

Re: Somali history in maps, from the ancient world to the modern
Updated the 70 AD map with a bit more context, and to show who's colonies they were.
Also, added two maps for 560 A.D. (when Axum invaded Yemen and took over Himyar's colonies, and carved out Adal, Dewaro and Ibro vassal states) and 1100 A.D. (Sassanid, Axumite, and Bazrangid empires all dead, successor Cushite states begin taking over the interior)

Re: Somali history in maps, from the ancient world to the modern
The Yibir are the Ibro. Yibir is an epithet Somalis created to refer to them disparagingly, after they had conquered them.
Midgaan too is an epithet, their actual name is Gaboye, as in "quiver of arrows". They hunted with poison-tipped arrows which made them much feared.
Somalia was once a caste-based society (still is to a certain extent, but before it was more regimented) where you had the So'maal, the herder and warrior, who was highest caste, then the Bi'maal, the fisherman and boatman and town-dweller, who was middle-caste, and then the Tu'maal, the iron monger, who was lowest caste.
My research seems to show that the northern and southern Dir are not at all related. The southern Dir and Hawiye are essentially the same people but different castes. The northern Dir seem to be the citizens of the half-Himyarite Ibro kingdom who converted to Islam and overthrew them, and the Darood appear to be Hadramauti immigrants who conquered the Gaboye.

The Lo'jirs were skilled archers they were used during battles with our enemies Abssynia all the way up to Sayid Abdalla.
Ibro sounds as it was a derivative of Hebrew.

Looks as though the Lo'jir were either conquered by the Ibro or by the northern Dir at some point.
Gurgure are northern Dir.
Gurgure are northern Dir.

Re: Somali history in maps, from the ancient world to the modern
interesting james,
i would like to know how you linked ximyar with ibro?
any links, and isnt jaberti just another name for muslim eastern african.
originally would have been in eritrea the first muslims in africa.
Dir would have been born around 650 AD,
and adal didnt exist in 560 AD, nor did IFAT, the same with Dawaro.
you are 500 years early 600 for Adal by depicting them on the map..
