And there is another mistake he says Ogaden War was in 19 century, that is false.
The Ogaden War belongs to 20 century.
But he is right when he says somalia was defeated by Russia and Cuba.

So why do you bring an article full of errors, mistakes and falsehoods?

So, the moral of the story is Ethiopians are weak and need the Portuguese, Soviet superpower and mercenary Cubans to defeat Somalis? But, you know what? Cubans alone cannot defeat Somalis; they need superpower Soviet's help. This means Somalis are stronger than Cubans.

The Russians say that Hitler and Napoleon both were defeated by Mother Russia and Father Winter.
In the case of the Ogaden war, the Cubans did deliver the coup de grace, but I think Father Rain and Mother Mud had a bigger part in the end result than many have yet credited.
Once the rains began, the whole operation turned into a quagmire. In any case, the delays by mud and equipment breakdowns gave the Habash time to train large levies that could have put up significant resistance had the Cuban assault been less final.
The diplomatic front failed utterly once the army passed out of the Ogaden. That right there is what lost the Ogaden War.

Well If you feel good with that idea,Eternauta
The reality is Somalia was defeated by Cuba,Ethiopia,Russia and South Yemen in 1978.
Everybody(somalis and not somalis writers) agrees with this point of view.
And you can not change the history.

Well, the reality is, it takes more countries and even a superpower to defeat Somalis. That tells you Somalis are formidable warriors. Look what's happening today; America the sole superpower along with Ethiopia and the financial supports of Europe are having tough times in defeating Somali Islamic insurgents.

Enternauta you are talking about different wars, different enemies and different times.
The ongoing war in Somalia is another issue.
The Ogaden War was in 1977 and the actual war in Somalia began in 2006.

Common man, you can do better. The repetition is getting boring and monotone. Why don't you post useful topics like the one with the universe, stars, planets, etc.

Inqarbe:You are wrong Somalia was defeated by cubans and soviets.
Look at this somalian source:
http://www.civicwebs.com/cwvlib/africa/ ... omalia.htm
The Somali army was short of arms and ammunitions and other supplies when, on 8 March 1978, President Siyad, to avoid a worse situation, ordered the troops to pull out, immediately, from all their positions in Ethiopia. The defeat was very demoralizing for the army

War is war, no difference. Besides, todays America's capabilities and advanced technology is more deadlier and stronger than the Soviet+Cuba+Ethiopia's strength of 1977-78.

Said Samantar and his opinion about Ogaden War:
Everybody knows who Samantar is.
As a result of its humiliating 1977-78 defeat in the Ogaden War with Ethiopia, the revolutionary regime began to founder.

Is he wrong too,Mr Inqarbe?

I dont think Somali are not formidable warrios, why?
Somalis were defeated by Portugal and Ethiopia in 16 century.
Mad Mullah and somalis were defeated by England in 1920.
Somalia was defeated by cubans, soviets and ethiopians in 1978.
They have lost all the wars.
