That is exactly the point of this thread. How can Muslim Somalis enjoy peace? Al-Shabaab previously known as Al-Itihad fought peaceloving Somalis from Puntland to Gedo in the past, did they change their shirts and became Somali patriots? No. Do they care about the suffering of Somali people? NO. They are naive young un-educated guys who were told to create an osama caliphate in the horn at the cost of Somali suffering. Let them destroy Somalia and Somalis.

There are three different groups competing for power!

First group is traditional, old tribalistic warlords (like abdullahi yusuf, hiraale, mohamed dheere)
Second group is religious and patriotic group (like sheikh shariif, abumansoor, aweys)
Third group is young, westernized and educated group advocating for democracy (ahmed samatar, somali peace research)

Kramer,

You missed out the Hawiye resistance who are not part of the UIC. They are just as active as the Al Shabab and in more cases deadlier as they infiltrate the TFG forces steal their weapons and gather intellegence.

I spoke with Xamar and a lot of the TFG forces are beginning to defect and fall under the influence of their respective clan authorities. They are abandoning loyalty to warlords and reverting to clan elders.

Eternauta,

Just cut to the chase and refer to yourself as "Wahabi" because in Islam there is no such thing as conservative or moderate period. The lives of other human being might not matter to you but they do matter to me, something you Wahabis would never under stand. Islam is about peace and coexistence something I live by everyday unlike the Wahabis who live by the sword...Killing you is not my calling that is Imam Mahdi's duty because I truly believe Allah will send him to safe the world from them not Christians. Allah has hell and heaven for a purpose and it is about time you crazed Sheikh's understood what those purposes are for.

American-Suufi,

You know talking sense into some people is impossible specially if they like to go in circle, but it is good to know there brothers like you who no matter what still try

All I'm saying is, to me and conservative (practicing) Muslims, the lives of Muslims are more important than the lives of non-Muslims. For non-Muslims, it's vice versa. Moderate/liberate (non-practicing) Muslims care about non-Muslims more than Muslims.

TAM,

Your second sentence is clearly wrong, assuming as it does feelings of exclusion that many of other faiths simply do not feel. It may be a good thing to you, but your first sentence sets you apart from the commonality of humanity. I find it sad.

How did they know he was home? Through G.P.S? The rest of Al-Shabab leaders are in hiding.

Cayrow got sold out by his own kinsmen.

American Suufi,

The EThiopians are now cracking down and killing Suufis so when are you gonna state the obvious that there needs to be a war against these scumbags.

All the while keeping an eye on the Akhwan too.
