Asalaamu alaykum

Sister it_girl I agree with what ur sayin about providing for ur children, n if u look at the sahabi women (radiyallahu anhum) they used to work with their hands to give money to charity by sewing etc... However, I think what sister Upon_Salafiyah meant is that its BETTER for you to work in certain fields where you are least likely to deal with men (as this may lead to fitnah)

Yes, we should follow what Allah subhana wata'ala tells us in the Qur'an but you must also look at the Sunnah of the Prohet Muhammad May Allah bless him greatly ameen.

In the Qur'an Allah subhana wata'ala orders us to stay in our houses, except for cases of necessity. We should not be extreme but rather moderate inshAllah. As long as you obey Allah All-Mighty and the Messenger. Allah will not burden you with more than u can bare. He is the most Merciful but you should fear his wrath and be very careful on what decision you make and refer it back to the Qur'an and sunnah.

As for 'sects' if you are referring to misguided groups (which are not so clear nowadays) then yes keep away from them! However, the best way you can live your life is following the Salaf and the Tabi'een (predecessors).

Asalama Alaikum ukhtii's and akhii's

first and foremost all hamd is to Allah.

I think that in order to understand the concept of the role of the woman in islam one must first go back to the basics such as Tawheed, there is no point trying to understand legislated things if one does not know ones creator very much and His rights upon us.

That is my naseeha inshallah.

Asalama Alaikum

P.s I won't be posting anymore until after Ramadan inshallah;

So Have a blessed ramadan thats gets accepted by Allah inshallah and
Eid Mubarak.

Sainab..Allah s.w.t never tells us to stay in our houses...He told the Prophet's wives May Allah be pleased with them...please do not mislead people because of your ignorance.

Englightened sis, plz read Surah Al-Ahzab verse 33! Allah the Most High tells us to stay in our houses and not to display ourselves LIKE THE TIME OF IGNORANCE!

Plz sis, do not accuse me of ignorance before you check for yourself.

Asalaamu alaykum.

Even if Allah subhana wata'ala was ordering the wives of the prophet salalahu 'alayhi wa'salaam exclusively, shouldnt we try to follow them as they were upon the truth?
