Cumar Samatar's rebellion that began with the murder of Capitano Carolei at Ceelbuur was so succesful that the Italians were considering restoring Suldaan Cali Yuusuf to his throne at Hobyo. Until they hit on the brilliant plan of using Habar Gidir resentment against the Royal Family
Cilmiile,

You conveniently forget the Northeastern clansmen that were as well used to fight their own brothers and cousins. Do not twist history. HG, Murasade and Waceysle Abgaal were only armed by the Italians, in which the playing field was levelled since the Northeastern chief in Hobyo signed off Somali lands to Italy as protactrate as the FIRST SOMALI MAN just to receive petty money and some weapons in order to expand into Hawiye lands southwards.

Ofcourse, what goes around comes around, as he himself was defeated by the ones he invited in order to get petty money and weapons.

At the end of the day, we can understand why Hawiye subclans would fight the Northeastern rebellion, but what I fail to understand is the immense hate present between Northeastern groups which resulted in the shamefull situation were some of these groups were fighting on the SIDE OF THE ITALIANS, against their OWN BROTHERS AND COUSINS :?: :? :?

Soomaaali weyn

Suldaan Cali Yuusuf was the ruler of Mudug and Banaadir and when fascist Italy decided to take over all Somalia he told them to fock off. And Hawiye initially supported his fight against Italians. Question is, Why did Hawiye choose to be under Benito Mussolini instead of a Wise, Powerful and Just Muslim leader like Suldaan Cali Yuusuf?

They should've said Ethiopians out within 120 days, no matter what.

Cilmiile,

Dont come here with your distorted history because we are familiar with the factual history.

The Northeastern chief INVITED the Italians and placed his land and people under the protectorate of Italy at a time Italians were frustrated in their colonial ambitions in East Africa. In this, the Northeastern chief in Hobyo and his kin in Bari were instrumental to bring the Italians and open the door for the consequent colonisation of Somalia.

And he never controlled Benadir, the fartest expansion southwards was around Mareeg, in which he tried to go to Warsheeikh but never made it that far. At the end what goes around comes around, he and his kin were humiliated by the Fascist Italians.

The only groups that put up genuine resistance against the Italians from day 1 to the end were the Benadiri groups like Wacdaan and Biyamaal and some Geledi tribesmen.

Suldaan Cali Yuusuf and his government never had to put up resistance because there were no Italians in his land. He was the just and wise ruler of the Hawiye and Daarood of Mudug and Banaadir. If he received subsidies in return for the recognition of the paramountcy of Italy, it does not amount to colonization. Any more than the presence of 7000 Russian military advisers in Somalia amounted to Soviet colonization of Somalia in the seventies. When Italy wanted more than the Wise Sultan of the Royal Majeerteen family was willing to give him, his Siwaaqroon General Cumar Samatar shot his soldiers in the face. And the Iljeex scum eventually sided with the Italians. They would rather submit to a white man than a fellow Somali who brouight them rule of law and safety.

Do you really think that Abdulah Yusuf and co will last a day if the ethopians leave? no they will be road kill by the end of day 1.

Also Alshabab are fighting in order too gain power! they are the definition of terrorists. They dont care about somalis! if they did they wouldent kill every in sight.

Dont come here tell us that they are fighting for a good thing cuz they are not, they elaay Muktaar roobow should focus on feeding the starving Elaay population in Burhakaba iyo Baydhabo. The Ogaden Turki use too work for Nabad Sugida=Spy.
