You made some good points there, but your source is not valid, Jaribaan is allmost as big as Goldogob? and Hobyo and Xaraardheere are both larger then Burtinle and Goldogob? this is rubbish! I have been to Burtinle myself, theres not way this is true, also I know of atleast 7 more villages who all fall under the district of Goldogob, and they are not included? this numbers count for nothing, everyone knows that Goldogob is the second largest district(in terms of number) in Mudug. With that being said Goldogob region goes all the way into Ethiopia

According to this survey the entire(with the exception of Waqooyi Galbeed region) population of Somalia is 4.2 millon :| lets be realistic okey.
Ok so its not perfect, a lot of in-between places are left out though, and also remember that over 50% of Somalia is nomadic and unaccounted for the most part. I'd still like to see more information on Goldogob; such a large place can't be such a mystery. If its part of Puntland, why hasn't the state documented it as well as Qardho, Lascanood, Badhan, and even Buuhoodle? I'd imagine Goldogob to be one of the 10 most important cities in Greater Puntland.

I think that Puntland should invest more In Goldogob region, after all the place is very strategic, its a resting spot for many travellers from Ethiopia(Jiijiga,Wardheer, Dire Dawa etc)

I would also like to see more information on Goldogob! and more pictures, for some odd reason the place is very poorly when it comes to information&documents. Gaalkacy is another Magaalo Puntland need to invest more in, the place is lawless and people do as they please.

Wara Xamud question,

Does Ethiopia interfere in Goldogob the way they do with other border towns? Coming in When they want, disrupting things etc. How are the Xabashi neighbors?

Yes they do interfere sometimes! like that time when the elders of Goldogob told puntland "fukk off we aint paying no tax" and Abdulahu Yusuf told the ethiopians " Al Itaxad is based in Goldogob" they moved in to check it out, and left after few hours! that was in 2002-2003.

i don't know xamud's accuracy, but I would believe such a statement.

Ethiopia a few months ago kidnapped a Puntland general in Galkacyo for stealing an APV - of course they will be in Goldogob in a heartbeat.

The question is why would A/Y call Ethiopia? He could have blitzed Goldogob with ease, because he hand Puntland under control at the time. Do you think Ethiopia would force Goldogob to pay tax?

That's a dmn lie my friend

Wallahi am not lying Captain! Why would I lie about him sending Ethopians in?? we both know that am not the biggest Abdulahi Yusuf hater on this site! In fact I never Insult him.

Why would he blitz Goldogob? or even think about it? thats like paving way for Haber Gidir. Teeda Kale Abdulahi Yusuf Ethiopian haada ka hor bu Goldogob Keenay, waagi SSDF

But if you must insist.

Fundamentalists, dissidents reportedly planning to topple Puntland

"The leader of the Puntland administration Colonel Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmad has claimed that religious groups and people expelled from the Puntland administration after being involved in "unforgivable" crimes, were now planning to topple his administration. "We will take a decisive action against the terrorist and mercenary groups who are growing in number in Puntland," the 'Xog-Ogaal' newspaper quoted him as saying on Tuesday. "We know what these groups are after," he said"

"Ethiopian troops have reportedly crossed into the Somali town of Goldogob, Reuters quoted eye witnesses as saying. The report said hundreds of soldiers with tanks, artillery and armoured personnel carriers crossed into this town in central Mugud region on Monday. Elders in the town said the troops were seeking out members of the Islamic fundamentalist group Al-Ittihad which Ethiopia accuses of attempting to destabilise the border between the two countries. The elders said there were no Al-Ittihad militia operating from the town and that on Tuesday the Ethiopian troops started to withdraw"

Xamud, Two things in the article you provided.

1-You claimed it was in 2003, and the article is 2000

2-Where did it say A/Y called for the Ethiopians?
