There's a difference between having sympathy for your brothers and living in-transit in the hopes of returning to Somalia. Many Somalis live in this transit state where they go to sleep & wake-up with Somalia in mind. If you're ready to live with emotional turbulance and can handle the never-ending disappointments regarding Somalia, then by all means go for it. My policy is to live for myself and my immediate relatives, while keeping the Somalia/Muslim masses in my prayers & hoping for things to get better.

I have no vested interest in deceiving myself that Somalia will have a functioning and stable government where I'll return to and enjoy all the amenities I get here. If it turns out that way, alxamdulilah, if not, I'm not going to lose sleep over it. What you don't understand is, I've lost enough sleep & peace over Somalia, I even went in to major depression when Ethiopia invaded and the ICU/Al-shabaab were dealt a blow, ask anyone in my family and they'll tell you how hard I took it. Because just months before that I was in Xamar & Marka and I saw all the things they'd done and how much they'd restored, how the people were happy and looking forward to so much. Aniga xitaa damac baa i galay to return and work with some local NGOs that were involved in local communities. But all that changed in a very short period and all I was left was a slap in the face. I'm not ready to go back there. I want the best for Somalia and Muslims, but I plan on living my life first, inshallah.

That quote is the truth.

These children fighting and killing innocent people to ensure SOMEONE else might get peace. Get the hell outta here with that bullsh!t. If anyone likes Al-loco, they MUST have the same brain cells as one of those pageant queens.

"The administration and people of Kismayo are not neutral in the Mogadishu war, because they support the Mujahideen [opposition fighters] who are against the fake government," Sheikh Sayli'i said.

He stated that the Al Shabaab administration in Kismayo sent fighters, weapons and vehicles to support opposition groups fighting in Mogadishu, where violence since Thursday has left upwards of 60 people dead and more than 100 wounded.

"The ongoing war is a just war…the war will not stop until the Mujahideen take over Mogadishu," the Al Shabaab mayor of Kismayo vowed.

Kolombo,

The Gulf, Sudan are good Hijrah spots. Egypt is decent too (Alexandria). My advice to everybody is to get as much of Your extended family out of Somalia as possible.

Murax,

Even Lamu which is closer to Kismayo than Kismayo is to Xamar is a great place to retire.

Clean, beautiful beaches, local friendly Bajunis, Masjids in every block, awesome place.

Inadeer Kenya is great, laakin I'm just concerned that the place isn't a real Muslim Country. You know How Imam Muhammad Ibn Wahab RH said Hijrah is from a balad of shirk to balad Islaam. Isn't Kenya predominantly Christian :?:

I thought about places like Jigjiga or other places in Ethiopia but I'm just not into Ethiopia Man.

As for Sudan, get Yourself a Nubian Queen and settle right on the Nile. The place is also booming these days

Murax,

You raise a valid point but I look at coastal Kenya as Muslim land because they were once part of the Great Swahili empire that was later occupied and then forced to join the non-Muslim Bantus. Coastal Kenya has nothing in common with the rest of Kenya. It feels like you're in Marka or Baraawe. Plus, Lamu has a bit more autonomy than Mombasa, its very rural and Swahili.

Wow are the people predominantly Muslim? I love Coastal living. Definintely a thought. Any Soomalis living there? I think You mentioned Bajuuns and the only thing that comes to My mind is something My Uncle who came from Kista to the States recently told Me, that while He was in Kista He wanted to go to the Bajuun islands so many times but was scared because the Bajuuns are known to do some crazy sixir on foreigners
