In this case, I actually believe such a news report. Our wadaado may never interfere with women's bras but they surely (and easily) would utter something like the bit CCL quoted. Islamically, the man HAS to provide for his family. It is one of the duties of being a man.

The woman is of no obligation to do that, she can work while taking care of her family. But she doesn't have to pay a dime to her husband and is entitled to everything he makes.

Islamically is better than any secular course of action.

Women being the sole bread winner with a man isn't right. Women have more responsibilities to take care of and men being useless idiots and not stepping up to the plate shouldn't be happening.

Women have things a lot easier in Islam.

Islamically you can make as much as you want, as long as you take care of the family, and you don't have to spend a dime on it on anyone but yourself. Your husband has to provide everything of which you ALSO are entitled to, has to be the father figure in taking care of the fam.

As for women & work, Islam does not forbid it. Women worked, traded & even fought in Jihaad in some cases during the Prophet's time (saw). There are guidelines of course, but its not what people make it. Women make-up an important percentage of our society, its very foolish & counter-productive to deny them education & employment opportunities. Not every woman is lucky to have a husband who financially provides for her, there are widows, divorcees, the un-married, orphans, etc or even women with neglectful husbands who have no choice but to leave the house & earn their keep. Islam did not start with egocentric & ignorant men such as the Taliban & their imitators i.e. Al-shabaab. Islam comes from Allah, Allah created both men & women, he favors none but those who are al-mutaqeen i.e. the pious irrespective of their gender.
