Voltage wrote: Read Rukia Omaar's book, the SNM once they were kicked out of Ethiopia in 1988 themselves pretended to be government soldiers and at night attacked Hargeisa and Burco attempting to get the people on their side who until that point were apathetic.

Why did the SNM rebellion start in 1982 but nothing happened to civilians or northern towns until the SNM crossed into Somalia .
What a lying c#nt this Voltage is the whole book is about the indiscriminte killing of the Isaq people, the title of the book is ""A governemnt at war with it's own people" and it doesn't just begin from 1988

Hargeisa has the BEST WEATHER in Somalia. Its relatively cool, few mosquitoes and generally a nice place to chill. I'd say next to Xamar, Hargeysa is my 2nd favorite city. You can walk around freely without any stress except for the shaxad artists but I feel much safer strolling the streets of Hargeysa and even Xamar than those of Galkacyo, Bosaaaso or Garowe.

As for its transformation, it has a long way to go but so do many other Somali cities. It requires serious upgrade of the water supply system. The roads need a lot more work. The building boom is good but there needs to be standards set.

All in all, Hargeysa is a pleasant place except when the locals catch the "antiWanlaweyn" frenzy (then you better hope you are deep in Ciidagaleville).

Looks pretty shitty to me. Every qaldaan just erected some building wherever they pleased, without regard to building code or aesthetics and created a vast city of eyesores. I hope a small tremor hits the rebel capital so they can all come shattering to the ground.
