Sahabi Abubakar compiled the Quran into one book, then Uthaman had it compiled and organized into the mushaf that we know today.

excellent book i have it and its sharh. Back in the days everyone used to learn that book in Somalia

Yeah they still do, atleast the ones who are taught traditionally, I have it in english with sharah, but the one my ustad has has better sharah and more detailed.

Focus on arabic. Trust me reading books in english is nothing compared to the arabic. Plus most books are not translated into english. when you learn arabic your library will increase my %100.

Okay this may be a bit off tangent....N Im embarressed to say, but guys I don't know much of Islam...I know the basics that is it...lixda iimaan, shanta arkaanu Islam...the different schools and what each stands for...wallahi that is IT!!! Olive Oil it is Wajib for you to learn your Fard Cayn because it is crucial that you know how to pray salat, make wudu, keep clean, when you can and can't pray etc and If you don't do it then Allah will punish for it because you have no excuse. This is more important than learning the quran because only the Fatiha is wajib on you to learn.

Abu bakr, Ali, and Khadija may allah be pleased with them all.

OliveOil trust me sis we are all on the same boat here. If you know the 6 pillars of iman and 5 of islam than your not that bad trust me. Also is a good thing that you have interest in learning about Islam because a lot of people dont even have that. Alhamdulillah now a days you can find a lot on the internet or go to your mosque to gain basic knowledge of Islam. You shouldnt be ashamed at all

Perfect Order, I don't even know what Fard Cayn is but Im assuming it is something (s) that is (are) obligatory....but I believe that growing up, I was thought some things by my grandmother N parents...but never knew where they came from (the Qur'an, Hadiths, etc)....its like how people are in every society...we tend to never ask question...we just accept what we r told to do/practice N grow into without having to do a research about it


Alchemist, Im actually starting dugsi this Saturday...haven't been there for atleast 5 years now...waan saaqiday even from Quraankkii aan dhigan jiray...laakiin InshAllah I plan on learning about the religion more...and hopefully become a better Muslimah InshAllah...
