Abdisamad not all Somalis that much I am aware. So far I know 1 Somali male who none of that applies to.


Fah number 1 happened to me and number 3. I am not married but the ones about marriage I know people who it happened to. I've seen faraxs drinking, fadhi kudirir happens here 24/7. Maxaa soo harey, you remember people telling me I am supporting zinah by telling these faraxs they shouldn't get married if they can't afford rent. And sexism...I am not sure if I should bother picking one example. I don't know if there is a more sexist people. At least we never used to bury our daughters or shun our widows/divorcees. Alxamdulillah that is the only positive thing I can think of.

Dee ofcourse, but no girl will ever just be like lets get married without anything. Even the most super wadaad girl will be like You have to shukaansi Me to some degree. The Type of shukaansi will be diff ofcourse. Still I've never seen or heard of a girl who married a guy without some sort of "relationship" and even the most wadaad will still do it

I share a lineage and history with Somali men and that is where the affection starts and stops. I will not pretend their faults don't exist. I will not marry a Somali man just because he is Somali. Xadoo i xumeeyo wu i xumeeye, him being Somali won't make me feel better about it.

I am not perfect but me being imperfect is not an excuse for all of us to pat each others shoulders and accept the status quo.
