A Meher should be whatever the partners agree on. The woman shouldn't be greedy and a gold digger, and the guy shouldn't be stingy and extremely cheap. If the girl is a raaliyo and asks for something very low, the man should up her a little by showing how much he values her. If however the girl gives off greedy vibes and asks for a high number and tries to up you, you should rethink your desire to wed.

I just don't get the men oo ku faanayo everyone in family paid 5,000 or 11,000 as if that is descriptive of something. I know a guy who makes over 90,000 a year and for meher and his equally professional wife agree to a lower number and have a healthy relationship now now with upper middle class family and a working class guy who paid exorbitantly and was divorced after 2 years.
